With Ben Carson gaining ground in presidential polls, Donald Trump is expanding attacks on his chief rival and suggested he’s nuts.
The dramatic stories from Carson’s rough youth growing up in Detroit are getting a fresh look after CNN contacted multiple Carson friends, classmates and other contemporaries who were unable to corroborate the incidents. Trump fired his first shot Thursday night, when he tweeted: “The Carson story is either a total fabrication or, if true, even worse-trying to hit mother over the head with a hammer or stabbing friend!” It was only last month — when Trump led all the polls — that the real estate mogul said he could see Carson as a possible running-mate.

He’s off, I agree. He always appears to be stoned to me. All of this that Trump mentions and now the West Point thing.....he’s finished. Good riddance Benji.

A ‘retired’ brain surgeon who now wants to work in the White House. (Better, of course, than being a greeter at Walmart.)
A staff that regularly communicates with Farrakhan.
A candidate that joined the Republican Party last year.
Lastly, and this includes all candidates, I want a president who served in the armed forces....preferably the U. S. forces.
So, I’ll settle for a Trump-Cruz ticket.
Let’s face it - as much as some folks here hate Trump, they have to agree that Trump didn’t get to where he is now by being a bad judge of character.
I love Trump. I don’t agree about Carson he is a good man why is he being degraded?
It seems like he is purposefully sabotaging his own campaign. Maybe he really didn’t think he would get this far and really only did this for the book sales.
Don't forget his support for and official endorsement of magic vitamins that cure cancer. That strikes me as the most damning of all this.
Personal attacks aren’t going to gaqin Trump any more support and will only damage the eventual nominee, whether it’s Trump, Carson, or someone else.
we have discussed this before...now Trump needs to move on.....and go after the RATS, Clinton and Obama...forget about the “primaries” and act like he has already won. Trump needs allies and insulting other voters/supporters isnt going well.

The latest revelation....that Dr. Carson lied in his book about receiving a West Point commission....is likely the end of the road for him.

That’s why he changed to a Republican in 2014 to run against the republican candidates to insure Hillary turn at the White House...
Ben Carson is a plant of the GOPe, and the media, RINOs and talking heads all know this...
He is there to knock off Trump and probably Cruz to ensure Hillary’s win....did you ever hear of Carson in the political world until this election? NO...
Trump wasn’t quite about running this time, but they didn’t figure he would knock over the apple cart of the GOPe like he has and he has a friend working with him on this, Ted Cruz....so the gig is up and now Carson is tanking just like all the rest....and the GOPe, media, RINOs have their hands in the cookie jar and don’t know what to do...they hired super pacs, and campaign people and Club for Growth to take Trump out and it’s not working...they didn’t figure how big Trump’s support base and Cruz’s support base was going to be and thought that Bush could handle it, but he was a no show from the beginning....and so is Carson...
True. But I do clearly remember when they called Trump all kinds of names (clown, ect.), including trying to embarrass him at every debate. That meanness by many were done without any so called “personal” attacks by Trump.
Because pumping him up as a leading candidate to push out support for Trump is not actually working. He’s no longer of use to them so the target is on him.
He is a good man with some good ideas and some bad, but not a good choice for president.
Dr.Carson is physically ill. I do not understand why he is even running, his health being so poor.
He has repeatedly had health issues related to his prostate. It was removed a few years ago, I understand, and here recently (the past 45 days) he was told that prostate cancer had reappeared. THAT is not good.
He also has medical issues with his eyes.
I would guess that he is taking prescriptions for these problems but frankly believe he should bow out. No one would blame him for withdrawing due to health issues.
The are videos on youtube.com that depict him giving speeches at convocations where he seems quite lucid but that was nearly a decade ago. He is not up to his old self today.
Usually, what happens in this kind of case is that the attack hurts the person attacked, but also the person making the attack. That could create an opening for the two Cubans.
Trump and Cruz are the only two men I feel comfortable with at this point. Either one is fine with me. Though I think Trump would have a better chance of victory in the general.
A lot of people we know today as “good” have had dicey pasts. That’s easier to learn about now that we have electronic media and such.
It probably isn’t wise of Ben to blurt out this stuff... unless he knows that Rats have it and he is trying to defuse the situation before the catcalls begin. (There is often a possible alternative explanation in difficult cases.)
It would be in line with the apostle Paul who freely said he was a blasphemer, a persecutor, and a violent man.
I would press, respectfully but insistently, for clarification on the points of most concern. Obviously he must have found mastery over the demons that pushed him to his head smacking stage; now he finely carves away diseased parts of brains. If he says he is a friend of a difficult firebrand political figure, he should be asked just what does that mean, on what level do they connect, why does he believe that is valid, etc. I know there are some catcalls about it but he seems a fairly solid Christian if one embracing some odd theological detail.
