The Meaninglessness Of Ben Carson’s Views On Egyptian Pyramids [the money quote]
Red State ^ | October 5, 2015 | streiff

Posted on 11/05/2015 12:55:00 PM PST by Cincinatus' Wife

".... I certainly don't agree with Carson on this but neither do I think it is terribly material to anything. If you are trying to make a case that Carson is an idiot or against science, I think it takes more than a religious conviction to discredit an internationally prominent neurosurgeon with a string of articles published in scholarly medical journals. On the other hand, Hillary Clinton believes in man-induced global warming. Many of the same people criticizing Carson actually believe that gender has nothing to do with chromosomes or endocrinology or physiology. When it comes to GMOs, especially seeds that minimize the need for herbicides and insecticides, the entire left make the Luddites look positively progressive. If you scratch a leftist you find someone screaming "vaccines cause autism." And let’s not even get started on the bizarre belief that heterosexual marriage and the pathetic fraud that is homosexual marriage are even comparable much less equal....."

Of all the candidates, Ben Carson is the one I can’t stand the most. Someone like Cruz, you know he has real faith in the Lord. Someone like Trump, yeah, probably not so much, and he’s just talking it up for the votes. But that’s all he’s after at least... the votes. All politicians do that to some degree.

But Carson, he’s the kind of candidate I really loathe. He is appealing to Christians FOR MONEY, and getting millions from people who are not rich giving all they can afford because Carson talks with a devil’s tongue in order to trick it out of them. Their eyes glaze over at his smooth tone and scripture references, and they don’t even notice that he’s suspending his campaign to go on a book tour, because he’s not serious about becoming President, he’s only serious about making Ben Carson rich. Then he stands there and lies over and over again on national television, about his ties to the snake oil “herbal remedy” company, about having a gun pulled on him, about punching kids in the face. Look at the guy. You know he’s just projecting his weird violent fantasies on a historical version of himself that just doesn’t exist.

He’s duping people out of their hard earned money and it’s sickening to watch, I have too many friends and family falling for his tired tent preacher nonsense, they post on facebook all day about how great he is, and I really wish he’d do or say whatever it is that’s needed for this 30% of true believers to pull the wool off their eyes.

Sorry for the rant, but literally anybody in the field would be better than him.

Facts are not always pleasant. We can’t afford another affirmative action experiment.

Caveman Logic: The Persistence of Primitive Thinking in a Modern World
page 261

If we elect superstitious persons whose dependence on unenlightened belief systems shapes their private worldviews, then it should surprise no one that their running of the country could also reflect such thinking. Educated or enlightened voters may be horrified by such a prospect, but it is part of the deal etched into our Constitution.  Is this so much hyperbole? Will our valiant leaders set aside their private superstitions and irrationalities when it comes times to decide America's actions and policies?

Probably not.  In fact, it is almost surely the case that a candidate for the US presidency would face certain defeat if he or she did not profess belief in a supernatural controlling deity or did not attend regular (and probably Christian) church services.  Thus, statements such as George W. Bush's well-publicized words about God wants him (Bush) to run for office are viewed with equanimity, if not admiration by the American electorate.  As for presidential advisors, here is a sample of the thinking of televangelist James Robison, a close friend and spiritual advisor of for President George W. Bush: "I was driving down the road with my wife one day when I heard God speaking in my mind and my heart.  It was not an audible voice, but it was nonetheless real. I heard Him say, I really like the way you come to me.  You don't just come to me with a list of requests and concerns.  Instead you crawl up into my arms, lay our head on my shoulder and rest.  I like that."

One can only hope that Robison's wife was driving at the time.

"Ben Carson is the least qualified, least suited candidate to ever run for the Presidency. That includes Obama. I would think we have had enough of affirmative action politics."

You're close, but no cigar. He is a pediatric neuro-surgeon (as in rocket scientist) with a fair handle on domestic and world issues. I have no info about him being "affirmative action". His intelligence and positions indicates he may be more qualified than half the Republican field standing on stage.

However, I agree that he is the "least suited" because of his mild-manner oratory and appears too layed back for a man who would be the leader of Western Civilization and all the totalitarian leaders he'd have to deal with. We're done with a bowing, weak-kneed, kumbaya president that has forsaken our Allies and encourage our enemies.

Carson seems to be a honest intelligent man with integrity (self-honesty) and could be a great addition to the Cruz Administration Cabinet. Name the post...I'm still not sold on which one. You can start by eliminating, the Secretary of Defense, the Secretary of Homeland Security (which should be abolished), Secretary of State (he's too affable). Tell me where he would fit.

Were any of your posts on this thread to contain facts, your argument would be more persuasive.

Well, given all your experience in studying the pyramids, I am certain Dr. Carson would kick you right out of the room and put you in your place since he knows better. With all that knowledge of yours, you must also know for certain that an effective president must be predominantly concerned with your object of 50 years of study. I do not happen to concur with Dr. Carson’s theory on the matter. At the same time I need not speculate on stilted perspectives when it comes to things that truly matter.

Nailed it JimRed! Why does the taxpayer have to be hit for every delusion a bunch of fruitcakes may have! It has gotten to the point that we can no longer put ‘Men’ and ‘Women’ on the restroom doors because it confuses some people. How about ‘Dicks’ and ‘Dickless’. Would that perhaps be clearer?

It reminds me of when republicans were all school girl giddy over the thought of Colin Powell running for president.

I don’t think he is the least qualified, least suited. Hillary, Bill, Barak, Algore, John Kerry, St Kennedy, LBJ, Carter, Bush, Bush, Dukakis, Ford..... I think he is not a good choice, but better than those above.

So true. Carson is a racial token. Nothing more. If he were white, he'd be polling under one percent.

Let's see: He has never run an organization larger than a carpool, he supports amnesty, and he mumbles nonsense like this pyramid stuff - oh but he's black, so let's give him a shot.

The GOP is no better than the Dems when it comes to jumping at a chance to vote for a token minority.

I don’t think Carson has any clear grasp of economic issues or foreign policy.

He did get into Yale and other programs through affirmative action, but I think he is fairly intelligent. So are a lot of people who would not make good Presidents.
