Presidential hopeful Bernie Sanders (I-VT) introduced a Senate bill today that would legalize recreational marijuana use on a federal level, The Hill reports. This is the first Senate bill ever to propose completely legalizing recreational marijuana.

The Ending Federal Marijuana Prohibition Act would remove marijuana from the Drug Enforcement Administration's list of "most dangerous drugs" and from the Controlled Substances Act, which regulates the manufacture, possession and use of certain drugs, according to The Huffington Post.

You'd have to be stone to vote for a socialist. So he's creating his future voting base...

I’m honestly surprised by this. This would usually be an issue held over the heads of a politician’s base. “Vote for me so I can...”

To push it now is interesting.

Ruh roh. Hillary’s in trouble now. She’s gonna be forced to out-leftist Bernie once again to maintain her “Progressive” street cred. I’m thinking she’ll propose legalizing crack, or maybe she’ll simply go the less extreme route of just proposing Federal pot subsidies for people too poor to buy the good stuff.

It’s a state issue and the Feds need to butt out.

Now that Ohio has voted overwhelmingly against it, the Supreme Court will want to legalize it.

Don’t smoke dope.

Why not?

Look at what it has done to Bernie Sanders’ brain.

it’s a state issue to reclassify a federally-scheduled substance made by the DEA, a federal agency?

Shouldn't the states decide legalization, or do you not believe in the 10th Amendment?

The Democratic debate was the first time I actually saw and heard the guy who had been the most Communist member of Congress until Obama came along. Bernie Sanders is stuck in a time warp, a New York City Red Diaper Doper Baby who seems perpetually pleased with himself for escaping New York, though a New Englander he still ain’t. He is a gawky, babbling, immature, shallow Marxist, who has not matured intellectually. He does not look comfortable in his own skin. He Just keeps babbling superficial Communist clap trap from the 1960s.
It’s nothing short of embarrassing to watch Bernie Sanders. He looks like he’s a student back in the 1960s trying to make an impression. “I’m a cool guy, I’m an intellectual. I understand dialectic. Can’t you see I’m an intellectual? Can’t you see how serious and intense I am? The thing I want most is to take away everyone’s money and give them pot instead. The country won’t be fair until that happens. Did you notice that I’m an intellectual?”

No. About legalizing pot on the federal level for recreational use. Some states have already voted against its use for recreational purposes. That, in my opinion, is for the states to figure out. The Feds shouldn’t have the right to decide this issue.

“It’s a state issue and the Feds need to butt out.”

This will not stop them, I bet 90% of what the fed dictate should be up to the States. If the Beltway crowd thinks pot smoking should be legalized nationwide, then it will be legalized nationwide.

The fed govt has been out of the control of the people ever since they went Uniparty, probably with Bush II, for sure with Boner.

"...legalizing recreational marijuana."

Why stop there?
How about legalizing recreational heroin. Recreational methadrine. Recreational crack cocaine?

Should have just introduced the Constitution, and asked where it authorizes the Feds to make it illegal in the first place.

We sure don't want the States telling Federal bureaucrats to take a hike. Yep, THAT'S a conservative mindset.
