Conservative super PAC Keep the Promise I has made a $1 million radio ad buy to support presidential candidate Ted Cruz. The spots, which will run through the end of 2015, are part of a concerted effort by Cruz backers to double down on radio to deliver their message heading into the early stages of primary season.
According to Kantar Media/CMAG Competitive data, Cruz and his PACs allocated virtually all of their broadcast dollars to radio in October and November and have committed to do the same in December.
The focus of the 15-second nationwide spots tout how the Texas Republican "routinely got under the skin of former House speaker John Boehner," according to a press release.
The initial focus for the sizable ad buy will be in Iowa and South Carolina, which host two of the first three nomination contests and are home to a wide swath of social conservatives Cruz is courting in the GOP presidential race.
Specifically, the ads will tout Cruz's support for "religious liberty" and gun rights, with a voiceover saying in the first ad, "I voted for him to be a U.S. Senator because he promised he would fight to bring power away from Washington, DC and bring it closer to home, stop the debt from growing and keep America safe. Even some of his own party-like speaker John Boehner-attacked Ted Cruz, referring to him as a pain in the you-know-what, because of his bold actions to keep the promises he made to me."
You’re welcome. :-)
Heard the ad today in Texas
It's like they know what I need to hear from a potential nom.
President Ted Cruz!
.
And the official Cruz campaign is sitting on its money for now.
It’s interesting that Trump is also going to start his ad campaign this month too. Some of their views dovetail. Should be interesting.
It’s fun watching the plan play out.
How does this help Trump get elected?
