CNBC bias allowed Rubio to skirt financial misdeeds: 'Marco just flat-out lied'

CNBC’s media bias in Boulder, Colorado, last Wednesday night may have allowed Florida Sen. Marco Rubio to “lie” his way out of his financial past.

The Orlando Sentinel seconded the opinion of MSNBC’s Joe Scarborough, who said, “Marco just flat-out lied to the American people,” about his financial past. Both contend moderator Becky Quick’s questioning of the Republican candidate’s previous cash problems was legitimate.

“Senator Rubio, you yourself have said that you’ve had issues. You have a lack of bookkeeping skills. You accidentally intermingled campaign money with your personal money. You faced foreclosure on a second home that you bought. And just last year you liquidated a sixty-eight-thousand-dollar retirement fund,” Quick said. “That’s something that cost you thousands of dollars in taxes and penalties. In terms of all of that, it raises the question whether you have the maturity and wisdom to lead this seventeen-trillion-dollar economy. What do you say?”

Rubio said the question was born out of a “litany of discredited attacks” by Democrats and political opponents. He then spoke on his need to take out student loans as a young man and the expensive nature of raising a family in 2015.

“I was stunned that the moderators didn’t stop there and go, ‘Wait a second, these are court records. What are you talking about?’” Scarborough said on “Morning Joe” Oct. 29, Mediaite reported.

The Sentinel echoed that sentiment Saturday, saying, “Rubio has a string of financial messes, personal and political. And anyone who watched his record in Florida knows it. He was mired in debt, even while living a life of limo rides and travel and telling others to live within their means. Don’t take it from me. Take it from court documents. And investigative reports.”

Notice Cruz defended Rubio on them asking him about if he should resign, but not on his financial incompetence. This is fair game.

I don’t see Carson’s appeal.

This is a crock.

We have Hillary Clinton selling her office to Russian spies and dictators all over the world and we are talking about this shit.

Obama had a felon buy him a home in Chicago, and no outcry about that, but Rubio’s mismanaged savings account is of heart stopping importance and should prevent him from the Presidency? Give me a break. This is jive!

This is bought and paid for propaganda.

I don’t give a goddam about Rubio’s pissant finances - this is a phony shill yelling in the street.

What about one hundred grand in cattle futures? Anyone? Anyone? Beuller?

This is why I thought the CNBC moderators did a fantastic job: they exposed Fiorina, Rubio and Carson as liars and incompetents, and tried and miserably failed to take down Trump.

Yeah, I saw where a third of his missed sessions was prior to the Presidential race. His campaign said it was because family first.

Wonder how many Fla families get to put family first.

The jive is that Democrats can get away with this - they are expected to be crooks and corrupt. We expect a higher plateau for Republicans. And, yes, the way he handles his personal finances is parallel to how he will handle the US economy. It is extremely important, and we need this win in 2016 - and Rubio isn’t going to be anything different than a D except on social issues.

Carson is a pal of queers and lesbians, too. Sadly our military is a damn joke with Clinton’s coed BCT and Obama’s queers and lesbians. Carson is a friend of queers too as he states here.

“Notice Cruz defended Rubio on them asking him about if he should resign, but not on his financial incompetence. This is fair game.”

He didn’t defend Rubio, just included the question they asked him about resigning along with the other inappropriate questions they asked the other candidates.

I think Rubio should resign as he’s taking money to represent Floridians and not showing up in the Senate. Days before the debate, I heard him say he hated the senate and that’s why he wasn’t there. He did not say it was the campaign that kept him from being there, (repeating) he said he hated the senate and that’s why he wasn’t there. He definitely should not be president.

Most respectfully, Sir. If true, this is not a crock.

It goes directly to integrity and character. Simply because Obama, Hillary, etc. are scum of the earth does not make it right to ignore Rubio’s or any other candidate’s personal failures. It should all be brought into the light for all to see.

The only test of what a person is likely to do in the future is how he has conducted himself in the past. If we continue to elect known liars of poor character, well, we deserve what we get........

As the Fat Lady clears her throat for ¡Jebito!, Rubio is emerging as the fallback candidate of the GOP-e and the donor class. E.g., mega-donor Paul Singer, who appears to belong to the log cabin wing of the GOP (his son is gay), is throwing his support to Rubio.

good on you. the parallels are just lining up everywhere.

again. i apologize abjectly to all the FR brothers here and elsewhere who i didn’t listen to when they warned me about rubio 5 years ago. they were all right with their insider knowledge. in retrospect, i was just too trusting of the conservative republican media types at that time, in particular mark levin. boy was that guy wrong about marco rubio.
