Make your own costumes! That gives you some quality time with the kids, new skills can be taught, imagination can be stimulated, and you don’t have confined to the sad selection of commercial junk.

Here is a costume I made a few years back to attend an adult halloween party.

It was fun to make, and I was quite proud of it. I integrated an old hockey helmet inside to support the weight, had little battery fans to suck in fresh air and expel stale air, and old video camera inside looking the "lens" so I could see where I was going.

I could take video through the lens so I could record what I was seeing, and when I hit the remote record button to record, a little light on the outside above the lens would light up.

Problem was, the party environment was not well suited to costume. The party was in what looked like catacombs (really) in the cellar of this guy's house, and there was smoke, and I was bumping into everything. Seeing where I was going in the red lights and smoke was nearly impossible.

So I eventually had to switch to a backup costume of an old man mask and hat.

Hahaha...easy costume to make, just have a johnny open in the back and wear tight, flesh colored pants!

He didn’t want it to be open in the back. We put in a zipper!

I don’t think he has ever actually worn a hospital gown, not even the disposable ones they give you when you’re having an exam.
