Marco Rubio should resign, not rip us off

Marco Rubio, who hates his job, should follow John Boehner's lead and resign.

After five years in the U.S. Senate, Marco Rubio does not like his job. A long-time friend told The Washington Post "he hates it." Rubio says hate might be too strong a word, but he sure acts like he hates his job.

Rubio has missed more votes than any other senator this year. His seat is regularly empty for floor votes, committee meetings and intelligence briefings. He says he's MIA from his J-O-B because he finds it frustrating and wants to be president, instead.

...

Sorry, senator, but Floridians sent you to Washington to do a job. We've got serious problems with clogged highways, eroding beaches, flat Social Security checks and people who want to shut down the government.

If you hate your job, senator, follow the honorable lead of House Speaker John Boehner and resign it.

Let us elect someone who wants to be there and earn an honest dollar for an honest day's work. Don't leave us without one of our two representatives in the Senate for the next 15 months or so.

You are paid $174,000 per year to represent us, to fight for us, to solve our problems. Plus you take a $10,000 federal subsidy — declined by some in the Senate — to participate in one of the Obamacare health plans, though you are a big critic of Obamacare.

Rubio reminds me of the student who refused to leave the classroom after causing a disturbance.

Oxymoron.

And then he whines about it not being to his liking.

Guess WHO is going to continue to milk the taxpayers for
their Senate salary while continuing to run for President on
the 'GOPe-RINO-Amnesty' ticket?

No.

That student actually goes to the classroom.

Rubio is the kid who cuts Class and then is shocked when he isn’t getting a passing grade. He’s glib and likable and can’t understand the connection between doing the work and getting a grade for the work.

This should be the talk of that state. If he don’t won’t to be there, leave.

Sure hope someone brings this up at the next debate. The fact that he refuses to show up because he hates his job, but still collects a paycheck demonstrates an appalling lack of integrity.

I had in mind the similar attitude. They both think they are too big, too entitled, to abide by the rules.

I hear they make a cool suit, its underwear with silicone tubing that circulates cool water from an electronic chill plate same as in a portable cooler.

Would be more comfortable than wearing a space suit to control his excessive sweating.

I tend to agree - you were elected to a position, you should either do the job or resign so that somebody can properly represent the state.

OTOH — this isn’t a whole lot different than voting “present” as State Senator Obama did the majority of the time. I don’t know about his record as a member of the Senate — as short as that was.

Yes he does. And his comments showed he felt contempt for the Senate. He is not learning anything from it and can be considered as having no background to be POTUS.

Rubio is a good case to study for the curious.

It's interesting to listen to what the famous talking heads on the right said in the beginning of his rise and what they say now.

Rubio himself has said enough of the right things, and did just enough to give his words credibility, to fool a lot of doors into opening wide for him.

What did he show and tell to make people in high places suspend doubt and apply their own interpretation of his worth on their game board?

Whatever it was, it's all but gone now.

He won't be able to erase the graffiti he just sprayed all over their big Rubio billboard they had made for him.

Now they'll have to find another player for the game, but they still are using the same judgment that made them pick Rubio.

No matter how much things change, one thing remains the same in our politics:
"Still crazy after all these years..."

For the record Rubio said he hated the system of how things work in the Senate....and no one should criticize that. The senate leadership is a disaster. This is nit picking at its finest.

Why he is not voting and skipping his briefing?

My last job environment was so bad that I used pray before leaving for work, but I still used to do my job, because it was a paid job.
