One evening in late August not three blocks from President Obama’s Chicago home, someone in a passing car pulled up to a silver Volkswagen and fired several shots through the driver’s side window, killing the driver, execution-style.
The suspected gang shooting happened close to a playground, an elementary school and a high school, where football practice was wrapping up for the night.
The crime terrified Obama’s old neighbors and highlighted just how closely the problem of gun violence hits for the president as it rages unabated in Chicago. Obama’s home city is at the center of a debate about the effectiveness of the kinds of gun laws the president backs.
Critics say the stream of deadly shootings are proof that gun laws don’t work, given the tough stance Chicago officials adopted toward gun ownership in the 1980s and 1990s.
But Obama’s team believes that Chicago, with its 408 homicides so far this year, is evidence of the need for exactly what he’s pushing: national laws that make it harder to get around the local restrictions simply by driving across a state or city line.

I wonder what the rate of unsolved homicides is in Chicago as compared with other major cities. Weak law enforcement causes criminals to act more openly. If Chicago solved its gang problem its murder rate would drop.
Liberals want to criminalize the primary protection citizens have against criminal activity. Does this mean liberals promote criminal activity? It would seem so.

The typical Left-winger LA Times reader is all in favor of Obama closing these “loop holes”.
Yet he cannot.
The pesky Constitution stands in his way.
Now before anyone states Obama will just ignore the Constitution outright, do understand that I do not disagree with that point, HOWEVER, he can’t do it alone. He has to order thousands, if not millions of people to violate the Constitution also, and that is a much, much harder nut to crack.
The reason is, we still have lots of conservatives in law enforcement, who would naturally be the king’s army to enforce by violence the king’s order of lawlessness. And they just won’t do it. What is an order that is simply not obeyed? The military, God bless them, take a sacred OATH to the Constitution, and while some, due to money and power, might disavow that oath, that vast majority would rather DIE than violate it.
For the Left, that pesky Constitution stands in the way of Utopia. Changing the Constitution REQUIRES a huge effort, and that must be done by getting people to agree with you and want to make the change, and then vote for those who promise to do so. And that needs to be done by not a national fiat, but a fiat of 50 separate states, or at least 34 states. Sorry, Leftists. You will not get 34 states to agree to change the Constitution on the 2nd Amendment. It is simply not going to happen.
So, stamp your feet, hold your breath, insult, rant, call the rest of us evil, redneck, blood thirsty killers, but we’re not going to give up our gun rights. You will have to find a way to come take them. And you and the President and all the democrats simply do not have the power to do so.
So I’m done arguing with Leftists over gun control. I tell them that they need to change the Constitution through the legal process, and until they do, no law they can come up with can change that.
Gosh, If only there had been a law making it illegal to have a gun near there!!
The article talks about people driving to neighboring states to buy guns but fails to mention the fact that federal law does not allow the sale of handguns to non-residents. You can only buy a handgun from a dealer in your own state. You’d think that would be a relevant fact. So much for journalism.

The example the article starts with is in Chicago, where some of the toughest gun laws are.
So if some of the nation’s toughest gun laws do not stop gun violence, just what is applying similar laws nation wide going to accomplish??
Other than eventual gun confiscation from the law abiding which eventually leads to totalitarian style socialism or full blown communism. Where only criminals and government goons are permitted to have firearms.
If the GOPe are successful in getting their man as Speaker (Ryan or other CoC op), and screwing the system to get their man as President (Jebster or the like), then it will not be long before they secure their power by backing away from the Second Amendment.
Our nation has an eternal fatal cancer eating away at it’s core. If the NWO has it’s way, once they get enough power, loyalists will be eliminated similar to the opposition of Hitler, Stalin, Mao or Pol Pot.
There are perhaps 20,000 federal, state, and local gun laws in the United States. The idea that there are still gaps is absurd. All we really need is one gun law; I call it the Second Amendment.

Sadly, that one essential gun law has the introductory clause, “A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State . . .” Legally and grammatically, the meaning of that clause is purely explanatory; it tell why the right under discussion exists without modifying that right. America’s enemies, the petty tyrants who realize that an armed population prevents them from going overboard in their control over our lives, want our God-given individual right to defend ourselves restricted in order to remove that barrier to tyranny.
