Hidden in My Heart
Oct 26, 2015
I have hidden your word in my heart.
Psalm 119:11
Im getting used to reading digital magazines, and I feel good that Im saving trees. Plus, I dont have to wait for the magazines to come in the mail. I do, however, miss the print editions because I like to run my fingers through the glossy pages and cut out my favorite recipes.
I also have a digital edition of the Bible on my reading device. But I still have my favorite printed Biblethe one I have underlined and read many times. We dont know the future of the printed page, but one thing we do know: The best place for Gods Word is not on our cell phones, electronic reading devices, or bedside table.
In Psalm 119 we read about treasuring the Scriptures in our hearts: I have hidden your word in my heart (v. 11). Nothing compares to pondering Gods Word, learning more of Him, and putting it into practice in our daily lives. The best place for His Word lies deep in our souls.
We may have many excuses for not reading, meditating, or memorizing, but we need Gods Word. I pray that God will help us store His Word in the best place possibleour hearts.
Lord, give me the desire to read Your Word. Then implant it in my heart and thoughts and help me live it out.
The best place for Gods Word is our hearts.
Psalm 119 is the longest chapter in the Bible, celebrating Gods law and its importance. Todays passage is one of the most well known in Scripture. Verse 11 is often quoted and memorized and spells out the outcome of knowing the Bible: I have hidden your word in my heart that I might not sin against you. Having knowledge about God is not enough. Knowing and meditating on Gods law is what leads to changed behavior. J.R. Hudberg

Well, some of the “packing” went fine, but since I am going to MA, some other “packing” could get me a mandatory one year sentence, so I have to go to a special “Shoppe” tomorrow to take care of business. I am very upset about this, as I have paid all fees, proper background checks, photos, fingerprinting and licensing. I did all the right things, jumped through all the hoops, and did everything above board.
It would seem that Massachusetts, the “cradle of liberty” does not subscribe to the Constitution, and does not give full faith and credit to the licensing of other states.
Yet, they expect other states to recognize its’ SameSexMarriage licenses.
Grrrrrrrrrrrrrr. I am so upset.

I did sing in the Choir today.
We made only slight progress on the fence today - most of my helpers apparently had better things to do. John-Man installed the brackets in the fence posts - I had hoped to get the 2 X 4 cross members in today - it will have to wait.
Tuesday morning I undergo MOHS micrographic surgery for removal of a small basal cell carcinoma on my lower left eyelid. It's not a big deal, but will take most of the day - they take passes at the growth - examine what they have taken, and follow up as appropriate.
After the excision, I go immediately to the cosmetic eye surgeon - aka the "Eyelid Man" for repair. Depending on how much tissue they had to remove, several options for reconstruction are available. They are all good, but I may lose some time from work under the most extreme circumstances.
