The fiscally conservative Club for Growth is claiming credit for two new polls that show Donald Trump falling out of first place in Iowa. The Clubs super-PAC, Club for Growth Action, has spent $1 million on ads in Iowa hitting Trump on his past support for universal healthcare, bank bailouts and raising taxes on the wealthy, as well as his current support for eminent domain.
Two days, and two more polls with the same message that Club for Growth Action reported on Oct. 6: Donald Trump lost his lead in Iowa, Club for Growth President David McIntosh said in a statement on Friday. The polls have made it clear: Trump loses when voters know the truth about him. Hes not a conservative, and hes really just the worst kind of politician." A Bloomberg Politics-Des Moines Register poll released on Friday found Ben Carson surging in Iowa, taking 28 percent support to Trump's 19 percent. Thats a 10-point gain for Carson and a four-point drop for Trump.
That poll comes on the heels of a Quinnipiac University survey released on Thursday that found Carson taking a 28 to 20 lead over Trump in the Hawkeye State. The Club noted that those polls confirmed the finding of their super-PACs poll, released in early October, that had Carson taking a 21 to 16 lead over Trump in Iowa. Until this week, Trump had led in every major poll of Iowa since late July, except for one, which found him and Carson in a tie. Trump and the Club for Growth have been publicly warring with each other. The Club has vowed to expose Trumps extremely liberal positions on taxes, health care, bailouts, and property rights. Trump, meanwhile, has threatened a multi-million dollar lawsuit against the pitiful little group.

The Club for Growth claiming credit for Trump votes temporarily going to Carson helps Trump in the long term. Now, Dr. Ben is the candidate of the Club for Growth.
That’s right.
Hang in there, Ted!!! Trump’s slippage, with conservatives and evangelicals, in the polls is going to continue, as ads such as these reveal the truth about Trump’s past positions.
I’ll bet my vote against their million bucks.
"Club for Growth and Jackson Stephens has my back."
If you look at the numbers, Trump didn’t really drop.
What happened is that the evangelicals who were backing Walker shifted to Carson.
They're pulling out statements from years ago and ignoring his policy positions this year, some of them in writing. I doubt the Club for Illegal Alien and Trade Deficit Growth had much, if anything to do with Carson's gains in Iowa.
Someone might need to run some ads informing the voters of the Club's positions on various issues.
People are saying that. You think that’s the case? Did Walker have 8%-10% in Iowa before suspending his campaign?
So, now are we going by what GOP and dem “insiders” say???
Don’t forget that these are the same people who tried to extort $1 million from Trump in exchange for their support. When he told them to go pack sand, they decided to take him out.
The Club for Growth is slime.
No one’s going by what they say. They’re scared of Trump and are finally admitting that he will more than likely be the Republican nominee. It just shows that their bashing of Trump isn’t working and they’re agreeing with those who already support Trump!
Go Trump!
Well, either way, I like seeing ANY ads pointing out ANY candidate’s past liberal positions and/or statements, as it serves to hold their feet to the fire and let them know they will be called on it if they swerve to the left.
I'm looking at it from a different angle. If Dr. Carson doesn't disavow the Club for Growth, Trump's going to have a campaign issue since they bragged about their ads that helped Carson and temporarily brought down Trump's percentage.
One poll shows Trump slipping and it is law. Typical Rove trick. Look for the white board to show up on GOPe FOX News any day now in an attempt to convince us that up is down and down is up.
They tried with Fiorina as the one bringing Trump down now it is Carson. Poor souls doesn’t realize that all he is being used for is to take down anyone not named Jeb!
For the umpteenth time.
Trump has always polled around 20% in Iowa. Walker had 8% in the previous poll. Now Walker is out and Carson surges about 10 points.
There is no evidence that the Club for Growth ads had any impact.
