The World Health Organisation (WHO) will publish a report on Monday on the dangers of eating processed meats.

It is expected to list processed meat as a cancer-causing substance, while fresh red meat is also expected to be regarded as bad for health, the Daily Mail said.

The classifications, by the WHO's International Agency for Research on Cancer, are believed to regard processed meat as "carcinogenic to humans", the highest of five possible rankings, shared with alcohol, asbestos, arsenic and cigarettes.

It seems as if everything is bad for you.

I like the idea that you should eat a variety of foods in moderation.

Going to extremes on anything will have detrimental effects. Eating too much sausage everyday will be bad for you longer term. But going on a watermelon and fruit diet will also had bad effects.

So where do we draw the line??? We all have to make those choices.

Off topic maybe, but heard yesterday that McDonald’s has added butter to Egg McMuffins, and sales are way up after they started using real butter.

Hmmmmm.... I wonder what could possibly be motivating such obviously outlandish claims.

Great, now we will have "carcinogenic pork skeptics".

This should not be dismissed so lightly. A very large scale experiment has validated this concern. During the civil war the Union Army was fed meat that consisted almost entirely of pork products - lots of bacon and smoked pork. Since then, EVERY SINGLE SOLDIER THAT WAS FED THIS WAY HAS DIED. Not a single one has survived.

We need to take these warnings seriously.

If you think you have prostate cancer, it is good advice to eliminate any animal protein.

However, eggs and chicken with skin are worse than the aforementioned meats.
