“Fungi is correct. Karma is not a Christian (or Jewish) concept.”

Only the word “Karma” isn’t Christian in origin. The concept is undoubtedly Christian.

Proverbs 11:31 Behold, the righteous shall be recompensed in the earth; much more the wicked and the sinner.

That people suffer consequences for being and practicing evil while still in their earthly life is largely accepted by many faiths and sets of beliefs except those that aim to glorify and tout evil and its advantages.

We are NOT the minority.

Yes and no. Here's what I mean. Yes, the cretins are in the minority. But those like ourselves that object to these cretins are also in the minority. The majority are those [otherwise good] people who can't bring themselves to be genuinely concerned about things. They are the enablers of these leftist loons via their complacency. That complacency is the real crime IMO.

No.

Both of you are missing the understanding that Karma is about what happened in a past life and how it impacts the present life. Reincarnation is at its core and one’s status or living condition is believed to be predicated on one’s prior incarnation, I.e. past life.

It has been conflated with the Biblical teachings you cite and the term karma has become nearly synonymous with sowing what one reaps.

But this is a misunderstanding of and distortion of the Hindu/Buddhist understanding and belief of karma.

The committee didn’t think in the right terms: ‘following the money’ - with the Clinton’s it’s always about ‘the money’.

All the committee came close to proving was Hillary’s an insensitive incompetent...not that much more incompetent than the rest of the corrupt liberal elites...

In short...

She wasn’t touched. That’s what she was celebrating.

Instant Karma was propagated by the Beetles.
Properly speaking karma effects your transition
from one life to the next but that is not understood
by most westerners.

It is funny to watch “instant” karma in action though.

One time a friend of mine was going ballistic over someone
parking in “his” parking space. We tried to calm him down
but he just would not and finally took a knife to one of
the tires to “teach them a lesson”. Honestly, as soon as he did it, someone came
and told him it belonged to the boyfriend of the girl
who lived upstairs and he ended up buying a new tire.

Why are you so sure of yourself, if your main focus is Christianity? Hinduism itself teaches that karma is cause and effect. So does Buddhism. The doctrine of reincarnation is a completely separate subject which includes, by extension, karma. But karma itself is a Sanskrit term and concept that means “act” and is related to the results of those acts. And that is the exact same concept portrayed in the Bible multiple times. You’re just wrong on this subject. Try to accept that with a little graciousness.

Yes. You understand.

I also thought about instant karma in responding to the misunderstandings of karma here.

“Everybody was going on about karma … But it occurred to me that karma is instant as well as it influences your past life or your future life … I’m fascinated by commercials, as an art form … So the idea of instant karma was like the idea of instant coffee: presenting something in a new form.”

– John Lennon to Playboy magazine, 1980

See tet’s post 66. “Properly speaking karma effects your transition from one life to the next but that is not understood by most westerners.”

If you accept reincarnation, then of course karma effects your next life, in the same way it effects this life - because it effects YOU, through what you've done.

But karma doesn't create reincarnation, and doesn't need reincarnation. And reincarnation doesn't need karma. But if karma exists, and reincarnation exists, then naturally karma will follow info the next life, because its attached to the person, the soul, not the body. And the soul doesn't die. And the soul is what earns karma through its actions.
