Probably all through the Trump Presidency, at least through the first term.

He is fully capable of it.

Jeb was too stupid not to realize that his earlier words would come back to bite him if he took a swing at The Trumpmeister.

Well Huffpo wised up. Trump is playing chess and the others are playing checkers. What appears to be Trump accidentally stumbling through one dangerous utterance after another is in reality a very carefully thought out gameplan.

My impression from the start of the Donald is that he plans 20 moves ahead when his opponents can barely see the first move. That is why he is always smiling because his plan just falls into place. Bush is getting filleted.

The Bushes in general are not very bright. Jeb might even be the smartest one. Not a one comes off as smart.

As an old time chess player I recognized that tactic too. Its part of The Donald’s “Art of the Deal”.

“Trumps wheels are always turning. While others sleep, The Donallold thinks, and plots his next chess move.”
Yep - and my guess is that his “people” are always plotting policy, researching opponents, and planning the next move. He can afford the best, and will not suffer 2nd-rate performance by any of his staff.
Formidable he will be and IMHO, he will only be defeated - by himself (an untimely faux pas)...

Americans seem prepared to forgive his gaffes. They want S.C. cleaned out, and fumigated.

A player is said to be "in zugzwang" when any possible move will worsen his position. German word meaning "obligation to move." Bad explanation. What it actually means is that the opponent has only one possible move in response to the other player's move - a forced move. (And of course he's obligated to move in any case (or forfeit the game), as players take turns moving.) Zugzwang happens when the king is cornered and every move is one move further to an inevitable check mate.
