With the anti-Constitutional political posture the federal courts have been allowed to assume, you're probably right on the first.
As for the 2nd, Trump's heart and your heart are in the right place - the same place as our founding father's, who wrote that Constitution and whose position is clearly shown in their treatment of the "Church of England" in America.
What happened to the "Church of England" in the 13 colonies after American independence?
The "Church of England" included in its "religious" doctrine an oath of political allegiance to the King. Their clergy were not only required to take that oath, but also required to lead their congregations in the same oath at all church services.
Our founding fathers would have none of that and the "Church of England" congregations that would not change their religion to reflect American republican values (becoming the Episcopal Church) were forced to flee the country.
Like the "Church of England" at the time of American independence, Islam is not only a religion but also a political system that requires political loyalty to itself and its leaders above loyalty to America and its Constitution.
But leftist political courts and judges have little regard for historical truth.
ADDITION: But Trump and/or Cruz are the only candidates in the race that can and would challenge those courts!
Music to my ears!
Choosing between a politician who agrees with you 80-100% of the time but delivers on 0%...
and a politician who agrees with you 50-70% of the time but delivers on that 50-70%...
It's clear which one I'll choose?
“Well, from a Constitutional point of view he probably cant close any mosque were he President.”
Clinton didn’t have a problem closing that place in Waco TX. did he?
In 1988, a couple of skinheads killed an Ethiopian man. The SPLC sued white supremacist Tom Metzger, on the basis that Tom Metzger's rantings motivated the skinheads. They won the civil suit.
Then again, jury members might have more fear of reprisal from radical Muslims.
