Any kind of sexual activity that cannot lead to procreation works as a biological mechanism to protect breeding couples.
Especially in humans, where older males are often wealthier and have more social power than younger males. Biology does not want older males (older than the optimum reproduction window) mating with much younger females, because they are far less likely to produce quality offspring or raise them as well as can younger males.
So, post menopausal sex is a good distraction for older males by older females.
