including when he joined his mentor Jack Kemp in denouncing a 1994 California ballot initiative that barred noncitizens from receiving state social services. Of course, what's not mentioned is that it passed overwhelmingly, among all demographics in the state but blacks.

I think most folks here on FreeRepublic are really missing the bigger picture here.
The dirty little secret here is that most of the 20-30 million illegal aliens in the U.S. have no interest in a "path to citizenship." All of these attempts by various levels of government to shield these immigrants from the illegality of their situation (sanctuary cities, driver's licenses for illegals, mortgages for illegals, in-state tuition rates for illegals, etc.) are really a desperate attempt to get these people imprisoned in the U.S. financial/tax system. With Medicare and Social Security facing insolvency, and with ObamaCare mandates to force younger clients into insurance pools, what this country is really looking for is a new cohort of people who is willing to take up the slack to address a growing upside-down demographic problem.

Good comment.
Like Europe, America is now getting our “replacement population”, brought on by 60 million dead babies by abortion since 1973, and another 30-40 million never born to them.
Europe gets the Muzzies and we get the Hispanics.
What’s not to love, as Jeb would say? /s

Mitt...oh yeah, they did a comedy duo act across the country. Didn’t last as long as Lewis/Martin though.

Paul Ryan is a corporatist puppet who willgive his masters cheap labor even if it means the end of the GOP. I consider it an act of treason even to consider him.

I think that any GOP speaker must promise to follow the Hastert Rule.
A rule is only a rule until the Speaker says it isn't.

He can get to 218 by pandering to the Democrats.
Sadly he likely can get 218 without a single Democrat vote.

Ofcourse, he’s for violating the rule of law. He’s a Rino/socialist. That is just an indication of where he stands on American constitutional ideology. Nada.
