Another massacre, another charade
Washington Post ^ | Oct. 8 ,2015 | Charles Krauthammer

Posted on 10/09/2015 6:27:36 PM PDT by LeoWindhorse

here’s the cycle of poverty. There’s the cycle of violence. And then there’s the cycle of gun talk. It starts with a mass shooting. Gun-control advocates blame the deaths on gun-control opponents, who argue, in turn, that none of the proposed restrictions would have had any effect on the incident in question. The debate goes nowhere. The media move on.

Until the next incident, when the cycle begins again.

So with the Roseburg massacre in Oregon. Within hours, President Obama takes to the microphones to furiously denounce the National Rifle Association and its ilk for resisting “common-sense gun-safety laws.” His harangue is totally sincere, totally knee-jerk and totally pointless. At the time he delivers it, he — and we — know practically nothing about the shooter, nothing about the weapons, nothing about how they were obtained.

September set another record for gun sales.
Just keep buying more guns and ammo. The more there is in circulation the harder time they have restricting or tracking it.

MY “common sense” rule for gun safety: shoot the damn Muzzie FIRST—before he gets a chance to shoot you.

The two shootings today have convinced me that it’s not the guns and the NRA that’s the problem. Colleges, universities and college “students” are the real problem. Those places area like insane asylums. Colleges and universities need to do “universal” background checks on the loonies they allow into their “schools”.

God was evicted from colleges decades ago. Evil moved into the vacuum.

Reality hits hard when "special snowflakes" start to realize that just showing up to most classes does not mean you pass the course, or that you can't act with impunity at social gatherings without there being some consequences for your actions.

Really?

I thought every social reprobate carefully checked to make sure his guns were legal before going on a mass murder rampage?

Who there is going to judge who is crazy?

IMHO, part of the problem is the victim mentality created and maintained in those institutions, and to eradicate that, half the faculty would have to be cashiered.

Krauthammer gets a lot of the cycle right; but he leaves out an important point. During each cycle more people seek out the facts about the Second Amendment, homicides involving guns, and the actual facts in the debate over protecting the right to arms vs the political desire to restrict them.

In the end, many more people become Second Amendment supporters. Very few become disarmsists; the numbers supporting the Second Amendment have been ratcheting up for decades.

Gun-control advocates blame the deaths on gun-control opponents...

While IGNORING the elephant in the room that has de-valuled human life for more that 4 decades now:

CHOICE

The practitioners of it killed about 3,300 future Americans yesterday.

We must CONTROL vacuum cleaners!!!
