That means the most likely cause is the mother’s body building up resistance / interference with the masculizing hormones.
Thus, homosexuality linked to brain differences is a biological factor that is independent of genetics.
It suggests a solution, as well, to prevent it in women pregnant with subsequent sons.

The study says the choices you make affect some genes, so homosexuals gene differences could be from choices made.
My brother in law is gay. His life has been hell because he is gay. He is six feet four and girls follow him around like puppy dogs. He does not like his position in life but accepts what he is. He was born this way and will die this way. He is not an insane militant. He goes to work as an officer in a bank. The bank values his skills.
When he goes home what he does in bed is his damn business.

I don’t, and the majority of scientists don’t, believe homosexuals are “born that way.” Being homosexual is “in” these days. Your brother-in-law’s choices are making his life h*ll.
THIS! A thousand times THIS! If there is any validity to the claim it is merely the epigenetic response of the body to the choice of it’s master. Perhaps even a defensive response to the perversion of homosexual behavior.

I believe a better test would be, “Were you molested by a pedophile?”. I bet that test would be 90% or better.
Some behaviors, like a learned stress reaction will cause certain genes to be expressed and others suppressed to accommodate the abnormal stress patterns and reflect them subsequently in hormone production and neural activity in areas like the amygdala.
But making a choice will not change genes. Repeated behaviors will affect how genes are translated.
Fact of the matter is, some homosexuals are born with broken machinery. Some are broken psychologically by abuse.
Consider recessive traits, methylation heredity, and other mechanisms that allow developmental disorders of all kinds to persistently reappear and revisit your argument.
Just because you don’t like it doesn’t make it so.
