Business executive Ivanka Trump said Friday that her famous father, real estate tycoon Donald Trump, created a culture of entrepreneurship that helped propel her in business and other aspects of life.
She said those lessons, which she learned at an early age, set a foundation for her and her brothers to have prominent roles in Trump’s business empire.
“Any amount of expectation my father set for my brothers and myself was far exceeded by the standards that we set for ourselves,” Ivanka Trump said during a breakfast forum at the Dallas Regional Chamber’s Women’s Business Conference.
During her conversation with Rena Pederson, an author and former editorial board editor for The Dallas Morning News, Trump rarely mentioned her father. And she didn’t discuss Donald Trump’s run for the White House, or his improbable lead in the polls.
She did, however, repeat a refrain familiar to those who have listened to her dad’s stump speech.
“I have never met a better negotiator,” she said.
When Pederson asked Ivanka Trump if she had good negotiating skills of her own, she nodded.
“I do, but he’s better,” she said of her father. “I don’t tell him that, but he’s better.”

I had a lib talking about how people need money and was blaming billionaires at the check out yesterday.
I said billionaires exist due to their own hard work, but FROM THE MARKET.
If someone thinks they are worth more money they should either start up their own thing or apply for that higher paying job elsewhere; if there is no such opportunity it is because either government regulation screwed things up or they are not worth more they are now being paid.
The person was horrified by my statement. I then mentioned that here in California we had over a third of the whole country’s welfare in this state.

Makes sense, there are two kinds of spouses. Equals in the eyes of their spouse and trophies that cackle.
I think you are right. I know a few mega wealthy folks and they are driven, but balanced in their diet and don’t smoke.
I see at most they sip something at dinner, but not really drinkers at all.
One half billionaire I know invented something used world wide and retired from the business getting constant royalties in the tens or hundreds of millions. That person is a bit more wild and really isn’t working.
All the others seem to have little time to socialize and were all born middle class. They all gave middle class values as well.
Know a very prominent tax and estate person who hangs with the very wealthy and he says they almost all give their wealth away upon their death if not before through foundations. They are not stingy.
