Newt Gingrich said he would consider taking up the Speaker’s gavel again if called upon to by House Republicans.
The former Speaker initially denied any interest in a return to Congress, but when pressed in an interview with radio show host Sean Hannity on Thursday, admitted he would consider it if he had the votes.

Gingrich understood the importance of party discipline, and Rayburn was the last Speaker who could control his troops. Party discipline isn’t pretty — Gingrich showed that — but in a body of 435 people, it’s critical.
I’d make an amazing speaker of the house. If I only had the votes. I’ve got the time, and I’m willing to say on camera, in a press conference.... “We have a difference of opinion with OBAMMY.... and we will not ever pass legislation funding Planned Parenthood. Its not going to happen. Any bills that have tax dollars being spent on Planned Parenthood are dead on arrival, and if OBAMMY wants to shut down the government over funding planned parenthood, then he can shut it down.”
