What a dumb question. We shell out more than any other nation and they all hate us more than any other nation.

I believe it’s just another way for politicians to get money from the taxpayers. Send a billion to whoever and in exchange, agreed on ahead of time, some of it will come back to your campaign fund or your overseas account or whatever. The pol can look like a benevolent humanitarian and get rich at the same time.

“What a dumb question. We shell out more than any other nation and they all hate us more than any other nation”

Not only do other nations hate us, those right at home hate us for not giving them more while they add nothing productive to the productive citizens who are being stolen from to feed their habits.

If its paying for abortions and morning after pills, or promoting the UN’s education agenda (aka Socialism), then no. It isn’t. If its giving money to Egypt to buy arms to kill ISIS and Muslim Brotherhood zealots, then yes.

Yes — it helps the corrupt political thugs who are spending our tax dollars.

Oh, you mean helping real people? NO.

Does foreign aid really do good?

Of course it does, it is returned many times over in political campaign contributions to US politicians.

Autbor makes valid points.

My point is I don’t want foreigners who hate me to benefit from my tax dollars.

It pays off donors and political allies in other countries.
That’s always been the main goals of foreign aid.
Rarely it’s used for ‘good Public Relations’, but only rarely as the ROI is too low.

This fellow must be a recent college graduate.

Yep. Let’s replace foreign aid with free trade.
That opens up our markets to countries we’re
subsidizing now, so losses we might incur
are ameliorated by the foreign aid we are no
longer sending them.

Haiti is a perfect example. We send food down there, and what does it do? It winds up putting farmers out of business (who can compete with free food?)

“My point is I don’t want foreigners who hate me to benefit from my tax dollars.”

Don’t you want to spend millions to teach African men how to wash their weenies?

Where in the Constitution does the FED think they derive the power to take from us and give to other nations?

Yes. It makes a lot of dictators, criminals and other thieves and their families very rich.

Could actually do harm to the extent it enables oppressive governments and dictators.

Naturally, there’s very little, if any Congressional oversight to any foreign aid. And it is damned well their responsibility.
