After my family experienced an act of horrific violence, I quickly learned that the personal is political and that the political matters. When my daughter Alison was brutally struck down by a deranged gunman on live television, I made it my life’s work to implement effective and reasonable safeguards to prevent this from happening again.
Gun violence is far too common, and I plan to do whatever it takes to stop more tragedies like this from occurring. I know that in order to actually make a difference and get commonsense gun control legislation passed, we need to get involved and we need to participate.
Politics matter. Elections matter. Too often, people think their votes won’t matter. Let me tell you from personal experience, twelve years ago I won a seat on the Henry County Board of Supervisors—by one vote. So, yes, your vote matters! In November, we need to make our voices heard across VA and send a message to the rest of the country. Will you join me and commit to vote to end senseless gun violence?

We have to focus our attention on the legislators who are responsible for America’s criminally weak gun laws; laws that facilitate the access dangerous individuals have to firearms on a daily basis. We need to do better than legislators who refuse to bring up universal background check legislation and oppose sensible gun reforms like the gun violence restraining order that was a part of SB 1429, while cashing checks from the National Rifle Association. We can't afford to continue with business as usual.

According to what I’ve read Parker’s father didn’t have to be exploited; he was anti-gun before Ms Parker’s murder. That said, McAuliffe will exploit any situation and do whatever he can to forge anti-gun alliances w/whomever he can.

I dont think he is exploiting Alison’s father, Alison’s father has been pretty much exploiting himself since his daughter was murdered, he couldn’t wait to go on TV and go on and on about his love for gun control..dude is a little whacky, no it isn’t just his Kramer looking haircut, he’s a far left loon who ran for a Congressional seat in his district and lost, guess he thinks he can exploit his daughter for political gain
An illegal alien here in LA stabbed his three children to death with a knife..a woman a few days ago here in Sherman Oaks was hit and killed with a car who then sped off, guess with liberal logic we need to ban knives AND cars

Well it won’t. You daughter is already gone. What you want to do is make it harder for the next father or the next young women to protect herself from being murdered. While I understand you are grieving that does not give you the right to cause anyone else to be at risk.......
There was a female newscaster in Little Rock who was brutally murdered by one of Obama’s sons a few years ago. He beat her to death with his fists. No guns involved. He got “Live” because he supposed had a low IQ.
No, Alison Parker’s father is a willing participant.
