I lived down there for two years. I finally left because of the four "p.s": Mexico's
1. poverty
2. politicians
3. pollution
4. police, "policia, 100% corrupt. Well, they get paid next to nothing and HAVE to take bribes, called "mordidas," or "bites" of money just to survive. They are also allowed to be ex-felons, thugs, whatever. THEIR police force make ours look like clean little angels.
Central Americans call MEXICO the "giant of the north," so one can only imagine the destitution, poverty and corruption in the ole banana republics.
