Calling the latest school shooting in southwest Oregon a “terrible, heartbreaking” tragedy, Gov. Andrew Cuomo is once again pushing the federal government to enact stricter gun control laws.
“The shooting earlier today at Umpqua Community College is the latest in a series of terrible, heartbreaking tragedies resulting from gun violence. … No one should suffer the pain of losing someone they love to gun violence, although it happens all too often,” Cuomo said in a statement, offering his condolences to the families of the reported 13 killed and 20 injured after a gunman opened fire at a community college earlier Thursday. …

Did Cuomo talk about how the killer targeted Christians? How the school was already a “Gun Free Zone?” How the killer is black (mixed like obama - hey!) and is probably a muslim or atheist?
We need a visual, a two bar chart of the # involved in these random shootings in the past 12 months vs the number shot in Chicago in the same time period. While we still have a strong base of voters, too many are sucked into the vortex of ‘we have to do something-ism’.

How about a REWARD for every school, theater, etc. that has a person with a CCW (if needed by state law) and a gun having at least six cartridges, at each meeting place.

We already have laws against crazy people and criminals buying guns. Those people don’t follow the law. Making it harder for normal people to arm themselves will not protect us from law-breaking predators.
Fortunately, we have the Bill of Rights. The First Amendment is self-protecting, and people whose free speech and freedom of the press are threatened need to speak and write in defense of those God-given rights. Similarly, the Second Amendment is self-protecting, and those whose God-given right to defend themselves is threatened need to ensure that they are ready, willing, and able to defend that God-given right.
Cum-0 isn’t the problem. He’s the symptom. The real problem is the people of NY who elected him. The majority of voters in NY obviously APPROVE of his stance or they wouldn’t have voted for him.
I’ll believe he’s serious when his security detail gets rid of their firearms.
Cuomo doesn't seem to mind being surrounded by men (and women) carrying guns, himself. "All animals are equal, but some animals are more equal than others".
