I know how this hero feels having charged a gunman bent on killing people, including oneself. I was faced with the same instance in 1993 and luckily wrestled the weapon from the insane person with only an injury to my arm to which I carry the scars today. This Army veteran is a hero in every sense of the word and his personal sacrifice and deed saved others. God bless him!

“I disagree. But if he’s still in the reserves, I’d think he’d a good candidate for the Soldier’s Medal:”

Correct.

And the unarmed security guards were frantically calling for help.

Prior to moving to Oregon, Mintz had served more than a decade in the Army after graduating from his North Carolina high school in 2003.

Chris Mintz moved to Oregon a few years ago after serving in the Army, where he was based at Fort Lewis in Washington state and was deployed overseas, his cousin, Derek Bourgeois, told Latest News Stories.
