If you agree that Hillary is better than the rest of us, vote for her!

Camille Paglia should be an ideological opponent for any of us who only want to talk to people on our side. The problem is, sometime the person right next to you is playing the trick of tapping you on the shoulder while looking the other way, that is, you're secretly being ripped off by people who you assume to be on your side.

(In the 1960s, people would have understood better than the average of us now, what is meant by "the pecking order", but for those of us who were on drugs, sex and rock-&-roll at the time, it means: There was a study of how chickens behave in the chicken yard; they establish a detailed ordering of who is above whom; if you're 23 out of 30, chickens 1-22 can out-peck you; you can out-peck chickens 24-30; if a new chicken is introduced into the yard, she has to be tested by all 30 of you before she finds her place; then you are either above her or below her.)

This problem with the people in your own camp playing secret mind-games with you is the hidden disadvantage of President Lyndon Baines Johnson's "I'd rather have my enemies on the inside of the tent [performing a common natural function] out than outside [doing it] in"; the problem being, your tent begins to smell.

Camille Paglia seems to me to be a person who is an ideologically attenuated [$25 word, I looked it up, it seems right] by sex addiction, in the party which holds axiomatically that the ultimate value in life is to be able "to do IT with whomever-whenever-however you want". (An original ditty: Playboys do it with flair, poets do it with wit, I know I shouldn't care, but what the heck is IT?) Despite the sex-addiction issue (dispensed with in Bernanos' "Diary of a Country Priest" as the least of the seven deadly sins), Camille Paglia actually has a high regard for truth.

Therefore, regardless of your party, it's worthy of following Camille's discipline, to avoid "the genetic fallacy" [the logical trap of arbitrarily excluding evidence from those whom one doesn't consider ideologically pure] by reading news, opinions and opinions-as-news from people on all sides of the table. Camille demonstrates this principle admirably regarding the current election circus on July 29 as Camille Paglia takes on Jon Stewart, Trump, Sanders: "Liberals think of themselves as very open-minded, but that's simply not true!" Trump's a carnival barker, but funnier than Stewart. Richard Dawkins is a joke. Sanders and Drudge earn approval.

Camille reminds us of an old idea, that a President should actually have a commanding presence. The last one who seems to me to qualify in this regard is LBJ, who partnered with John Daly and the Kerner Commission on pretext of the Great Society to destroy entrepreneurship among urban African-Americans, the group it has been estimated had to attain about a 70% rate of small-business ownership to survive the Depression. "Hey, shut your business or quit your job, go down to City Hall and get on that free gravy train". Several generations of "Papa Was A Rolling Stone" later, the lost young people are about to come out of their communities to bring some of this wisdom to the rest of us.

Regardless, if you are like Russians who yearn for the good old days of Iron Joe Stalin, if you accept Hillary's sovereign majesty, that she is better than all the rest of us, by all means, donate to her, vote for her in the primaries, no need to bother voting in the general, but be sure to have your support registered with the same people who keep her enemies list so you can get your just reward in this life.

A popular M O here at FR.

I have kin that was a successful political consultant.
Now retired, but still very interesting.

Always amazed me at the size of the 'underground' political organizations! Paid and volunteer, that write letters to papers and troll anywhere and everywhere.
Add to that the foreign paid trolls...

Sometimes I wonder how many posters are real?

Some seem to post in tandem, perhaps they worked the same shift or want to appear unconnected? They post in volume, yet never reply?

We are are not alone.

IIRC, Eva Duarte de Peron could have given Hillary Clinton lessons in how to be a cold-eyed imperious bitch without an ounce of warmth.

Evita didn’t just curse at people, she had them arrested & imprisoned. And came within a whisker of becoming vice Presidente of Argentina. Died at 33 of cancer.

Ever notice that Eva Peron is the only woman in all of Latin America who is remembered here for anything?

“Ever notice that Eva Peron is the only woman in all of Latin America who is remembered here for anything?”

Probably true, but in my case I only know of her because of the notoriety. I don’t know any others, off hand.

I should have said, “Eva Peron is the only woman in Latin American politics to have risen as far as she did.”

Her husband wanted to name her vice president but the Argentine military put its foot down.

I wish our military would put it’s collective foot down, but most of the leaders (like Dempsey) are Obamabots.
