“The present general understanding of Revelation is not quite 200 years old.”
Now you are in trouble/ lol
Personally, I hold with Thomas Paine. It speaks in code and symbolism, beasts, seals, white horse riders, etc.. and has no clear meaning. Therefore, it actually reveals nothing. It could have a hundred interpretations that make sense, so it tells you nothing.
Second, a revelation only reveals something to the person receiving the message. To everyone else it is hearsay. So like Thomas, doubting is fine.

Back in that day, apocalyptic literature was the going thing. There are still about fifty extant. Revelation was written to warn the Christians of the coming persecution by Rome. John couldn’t spell it out clearly; he would have endangered the Christian churches if he has said “Nero” rather than 666.
The woman riding the beast, for example, was the Jewish leaders in cahoots with the Roman government (not my personal interpretation), but it makes sense.
Nero is thought to have preceded the Book of Revelation.
When Was the Book of Revelation Written?
Yeah, but based on my first-hand observations about 39.5 million of them aren't military material. :)
There is really only one person who dated the Book of Revelation for about 90 AD.
I am not a theologian, but have studied the topic. Moses Stuart is a good source.
For the Chinese, it’s about numbers. 1% of them would comprise four complete infantry corps. I know you still need equipment, armor, air support, etc.
However, that’s quite a garrison you’ve got there.
I am not a theologian either but love to study this stuff. No matter how much I study it there is still an infinite amount of things to learn.
I don't see how anyone can be an authority. Just too much to learn.
I think you mean "sigma," not "stigma."
Stigma is an archaic symbol--mostly forgotten--for the number six. Check this LINK

I love the study of ancient languages and Scripture...but I haven't scratched the surface.
I hope that in the world to come I have a chance to continue.
