House Speaker Rep. John Boehner (R-OH) 35% still wont be able to win reelection without Democratic votes, Breitbart News has learned, and he has abandoned yet another plan to try to embarrass conservatives seeking his ouster, which he was going to move forward with on Friday.
The day after Pope Francis addressed the Congress for the first timein front of a teary-eyed Boehnerthe Speaker had planned to move forward by bringing forth a resolution to vacate the chair, then holding a vote for his reelection intended to prove he had widespread support in the GOP conference.
But just as when Rep. Mark Meadows (R-NC) 96% first introduced the measure, Boehner quickly learned again that he does not have enough support in the House GOP conference to win re-election and called off still-preliminary plans to hold the vote on Friday. A senior House GOP aide confirmed to Breitbart News that Boehner considered this strategy againafter it failed before the August recessand pulled the plug on Thursday when he realized he didnt have enough support. That doesnt mean he still wont go through with something like that, and anything is possible. But for now, Boehner looks as weak as hes ever been in the speakership chairand could eventually need to depend on Democrats to win reelection.
Boehners spokeswoman Emily Schillinger denied this, telling Breitbart News thats not true.

I hope he does. Switch party Boehner!
I hope all GOPe switch to DEM and GOP to lose the majority. This would be the best thing to happen for us because we could vote them all out next election
Why would the Democrats want to save Boehner? Better to let the Republicans rip each other apart for a while. Congress can go on without a speaker.
I think his constituents would really appreciate it if he did just that.
Ain’t gonna happen. Boehner has a 35% conservative rating. that would put him too far to the right for the mainstream of the Democrat party. Hell 35% means he is mainstream Republican.
Why would DIMS in the House support Boner when they have Pelosi?
Because maybe a real conservative would get the position and start fighting back.
I just relocated into this idiot’s district. Lucky me.
IF the GOP switch parties, at least
they will not have lied ONCE.
The GOP are the MOST disgusting group of liars,
who PROMISED voters that they would act,
but their ONLY act has been enrichment of themselves,
and further EXEMPTION of their Staff and families.
From what I recall reading here; the “Speaker” does not have to be an elected Congress-critter. They could elect Newt if the juevo’s were there.
SERIOUSLY! ARE YOU KIDDING ME!
What is wrong with this man? This is very disturbing.

Good grief. This guy is mentally unstable.
I was raised a Catholic, I’ve never been in front of TV cameras, I’ve never even been to Washington but I would not freak out like a little baby the way this very messed up man did. On the contrary, Pope Francis is a leftist and not ANYONE to cry over.
I just spent all morning replying to turds like my senator Kelly Ayotte. All the RINOs sent along emails explaining why they caved again and how its a hood thing for the long term. I doubt my emails made it through some of the filter blockers. Too many f bombs. I despise these scum.
After his weepy performance yesterday, it's time that the grownups in the HOR (bot parties) take charge. Boehner is third in line for President, for heaven's sake! Wasn't part of Rome's final demise worse than useless Emperors?
That’s the sign of an alcoholic.

Weeping like he does is a prime symptom of alcoholism...
But, sign it: "F*ck you very much", your constituent.
There's almost no chance of that because a real conservative couldn't get half the GOP caucus to select him. If Boehner goes down then it'll be McCarthy or Scalise who will replace him. The Democrats can live with either one.
They could elect me, too, if they wanted but I doubt that'll happen. The odds that the Republicans will go outside of the House to select a speaker is zero.
