I'm not surprised at all. In fact, I
am surprised to read this headline because I thought the NYC schools were closed on Muslim holidays long before 9/11.
Guess that shows you how detached I've become.

This has been the MO from the beginning. Do yo remember the first ‘winner’ design for the Flight 93 project? It had a ‘crescent of embrace’ as part of the Memorial. They were accepting comments on the page and I asked them how they thought airline passengers were going to feel, long about September 11th each year, when they looked down and saw a red (the color of the fall maple trees) crescent where Flight 93 crashed?? This ‘we must do everything in our power to make sure Muslims are not offended and are, in fact, catered to’ attitude sprang up immediately after the terrorist attack. Most Americans back then wouldn't buckle under to the manipulation. I cannot say that is the case anymore.
