Pope Francis today suggested to reporters during an airborne press conference that he is not a left-winger. “Some people might say some things [I said] sounded slightly more leftish, but that would be a mistake of interpretation,” the Pope said to journalists, according to Time.

To its credit, the Washington Post editorial board, of all things, has a commentary strongly criticizing the Pope’s visit to Cuba where he was quite buddy buddy with Castro, praised his system and had no time for the dissidents treated like dirt by the Castro brothers. This Pope, I’m sure, will have no such hesitation in harshly criticizing the horrible American society where we have a Constitution, free speech and a per capita income that is hundreds of times higher than that of Cuba.
Leftist is as leftist does.

It's very uncomfortable, the way Pope Francis has interjected himself into the governance of other nations.
