Trump on Muslims: 'A lot of people agree with Ben'
MSN News ^ | September 22, 2015 | Mark Hensch

Donald Trump said late Monday that many Americans share fellow Republican presidential candidate Ben Carson’s skepticism toward the idea of a Muslim president.

Trump added on Fox News’s “On the Record” that Islam struggles with extremist ideology more than other religions.

“You know, Ben was saying there are difficulties,” the GOP front-runner told Greta Van Susteren.

The media is trying to get the other candidates to attack Carson. Fiorino did so on the tonight show.

A president must swear an oath to protect and defend the Constitution. The Constitution, with its freedoms of speech and religion along with other provisions, directly contradicts Sharia Law. No Muslim who believes in Sharia Law could ever protect and defend the Constitution.

Trump tells the truth and refuses to spout politically correct lies.

The enemedia wants them all to swear an oath to protect and defend political correctness. Anyone who refuses to bow to Baal must be tossed into the fiery furnace.

Carson is an American Citizen running for a position of the POTUS, he has every right, according to our Constitution and Bill of Rights to say how he feels, as all of us Legal American Citizens can do...however,

You take someone who is in our Government, who has taken the oath of office to swear to protect the Constitution of the United States cannot say anything that would go against that oath....it’s called treason, is it not?

The problem with Islam is not just the behavior.

As the cynical _resident pointed out, even Christianity had behavioral problems in the not too distant past.

HOWEVER, the difference is that the TEACHINGS of Islam are bloody and violent, where as the teachings of Christianity ARE NOT!

People, including Trump, need to read the bloody source texts of Islam!

Apparently, Ben Carson HAS read them and knows them well enough to say that no Muslim should ever be president.

No muslim should ever be a judge, or congressman, or policeman, or serve in *ANY* public capacity, because their source documents argue *AGAINST* the Individual Liberty framed and guaranteed by the Constitution.

I haven’t heard a word from muslims about Carson’s comments concerning...

1. The Constitution conflicting with sharia law.
2. A muslim renouncing Islam to serve as President

I haven’t heard a word from them!

Amen. I watched that interview with Greta and she was surly toward Trump - never once smiled and looked like she had ingested a pint of lemon juice. She can try to be fair and balanced all she wants, but, her face told a different story. I’m talking about her demeanor and tone of voice.

Here’s something to ponder. A Christian is elected president. Since Islam is a religion would the president not be required under the constitution to protect Islam?

Of course, the solution is to declare Islam a political ideology and not a religion. But does the constitution allow that? I’ve always said our freedoms will be used by our enemies to destroy us.

The Founding Fathers knew it but this was the best they could come up with. And even with all the corruption from the beginning it’s lasted more than 200 years. I fear it won’t last much longer.

Trump nailed it. He managed to defend Dr. Carson while saying a Muslim couldn be president. While doing so, Trump made the point, convincingly, that Radical Islam is a problem, much more so than radicals of any other religion.

Dr. Carson apologized to Trump for questioning his religion, so Trump didn't decimate Carson. Seems fair to me.

No, actually not. It would be making a statement that is unconstitutional. Not everything unconstitutional is treasonous, at least not according to the constitutional definition of treason, which is very clearly defined in Article III section 3:

“Treason against the United States, shall consist only in levying War against them, or in adhering to their Enemies, giving them Aid and Comfort. No Person shall be convicted of Treason unless on the Testimony of two Witnesses to the same overt Act, or on Confession in open Court.”

It is not treasonous to violate, for example, the 4th amendment, it is unconstitutional. Very different. Bad, both, but different.

There was a time when African-Americans and women couldn’t even vote in this country, let alone be president.

That was changed by two Constitutional amendments. If Islamic Americans become a strong enough force, a Constitutional amendment will likely be similarly passed to allow them to serve as president.

But as of now, why of all things are our two top Republican presidential candidates spending their time attacking Islam when Christianity has been under fire as never before, and our freedom of religion is increasingly under threat?

Why are they not talking about those important things?

Since America with all its faults has been a very tolerant country, how can a political party continue to thrive if its two top presidential candidates spend one day after another exhibiting their xenophobia, misogyny, and uncommon level of intolerance?

Making America great again?! For whom?

“I watched that interview with Greta and she was surly toward Trump”

Greta is a heavy duty pro-women, especially professional women freak. Big time. Same as Megyn Kelly. And when Trump, as Greta perceives it, trashed Carly Fiorina, that’s a big sin in Greta’s book. However, she’s got a problem, because she has always cottoned up to The Donald, has had him on her program numerous times, and has gone up to his Tower office multiple times to interview him. Now she has to reconcile her defend Carly instincts with her many years of liking The Donald. Will be interesting to watch how she tries to split the difference.
