but that could be taqiyya
I was talking to a man this morning at work and he said he is supporting Carson. Go figure. You had to be there?
Dr. Carson is holding firm! There’s no such THING as a Muslim who will publicly renounce Shariah.
There is no Islam without Shariah, which equals theocracy. Dr. Carson has walked nothing back.
Waiting for CAIR to denounce Dr. Carson as an Islamophobe in 5...4...3...2...1...
You actually liked the way he backtracked?
He should have stuck to his guns and said that Islam is not compatible with the Constitution and the principles of American Liberty. Instead he basically said he could support a Muslim as long as they pretended to be a Christian.... Kinda like someone we know.
“”I could never support a candidate for President of the United States that was Muslim and had not renounced the central tenant of Islam: Sharia Law,”
He should have made this statement the hour after the msm started attacking him.
Exactly. How does one determine that a Muslim has denounced Sharia law?
I wonder how he rates that with being a dishonest politician which we have so many of.
However, P-M, I watched Carson on stage last week, and he definitely ad libs deep responses. You can see him thinking his way through them. In the same way that Trump spurts out answers and gets a bit of leeway because of that from me, I'll give Carson a bit of leeway as well. Only a little.
My lineup is still Cruz, Trump, Carson. Of the others, those on my list are Huckabee, Paul, Santorum, and Rubio. I don't really want any of the others.
In best Howard Cosell voice: Down Goes Carson! Down Goes Carson! Down Goes Carson!
You actually liked the way he backtracked?

I don’t believe it’s a backtrack though.
There no such thing as a Muslim publicly renouncing Shariah. Muslims, Carson, and Carson’s team know this.
Perhaps the good doctor should read this book. So a muzzie denounces Sharia. So what?
Should have stood his ground. Equivocation never plays out well.
Muslim or not, we already have a POTUS who is Jihadi friendly.
I like Carson and his supporters
I dont think he will win the primaries but I like his calm and intellectual demeanor.
His supporters will probably go to Trump, too
With his unscripted response to Chuck Todd's questions, he went up at at least 10 points in my book. With this backtracking he lost all that ground and then some.
Apparently Cruz's response about the Constitution was based on a false statement by a reporter who told Cruz that Ben Carson had said that "a Muslim would not be qualified to be president". The reporter started to say that Ben Carson said that a Muslim should not be elected president, but then lied to Cruz and said that Ben Carson said they would not be qualified.
Yesterday I couldn't understand why Cruz would have brought up the "religious test clause" in regard to Carson's statement. But the reporter doing her job as a hack for the Democrats set up the question in order to get a criticism of Cruz. Then the media ran with Cruz's statement to say that Cruz "schooled Carson on the Constitution."
Mark Levin spent almost his entire program defending Carson.
Then Carson does this.
“CAIR says he must step down, since when did a muzzie group run USA elections. WE decide who we dont want by not funding them in the primaries.”
Carson should say that since Hillary started the rumor back in 2008 that either CAIR demands she step down or they should STFU.
If there is no such thing, then why bring it up? Why not be honest and say there is no such thing?
It's kinda like saying I don't think a KKK member should be president, but if the KKK member were to denounce the KKK then I would be able to support him - even if he continued to go to Klan meetings every Wednesday night.
Carson blew it here. He stood up like a man and then folded like a cheap tent.
Carson is a great man and would make a wonderful Surgeon General. Maybe even a VP who can take our healthcare and veterans healthcare system and change it for the better.
As President? Not so much. A doctor would have the emotional stigma of killing people and our next President will be killing a lot of radical Muzzies.
Surgeon General?
What a useless position. A position with absolutely no power or influence.
Do you even know who the current or last Surgeon General is or was?
I don’t see this as a backtrack. Carson is brilliantly getting to the heart of the matter. The indisputable fact here is that no Muslim can honestly take the oath of office for the Presidency without renouncing Sharia Law. You can’t swear to uphold the constitution while at the same time wanting to impose an Islamaic theocracy.
This isn’t to say that a Muslim might not have already dishonestly taken that oath two times.
Exactly. I liked Carson’s original statement better, but the clarification has the advantage of shifting the argument to even stronger ground.
Those seeking to smear him will now have to condone Sharia Law, rather than come to the defense of those elusive “moderate Muslims” whose existence is about as well documented as bigfoot’s.
