Think of how Hollywood has portrayed the British over the last 40 years. They are watching a lot of the same movies. It's a subtle brainwashing. That seeps in through the culture.

I am currently watching "Turn" on Netflix, about General Washington's spies during the Revolution. There is one British Captain on there who is borderline psychotic. It is one of the more disturbing portrayals of a "lobster back" I've ever seen...with Captain Randall from the Outlander series taking the number one position on the list of psychotic British captains.

That kind of stuff has an effect eventually.

quite should have been quit.

And no she wasn't a Baptist. She wore this Islamic shawl on her head. No Burkha so she couldn't have been that radical, but still for a modern dancer to give that up for Islam was waaay too strange.

I grew up in England in the 70’s/80’s, moved here in the 80’s as a teenager. Even at that time hardly any kids went to Church. The school teachers were extremely liberal. Religion was mocked. We had a couple of years of teacher strikes but I don’t ever remember studying much about history or government. My parents were religious, we went to Church. It was something I wasn’t open about, you’d just be laughed at.

...but I could tell there was something wrong. We’d lost something. The biggest surprise in moving here was that many kids/families went to Church. If they found out you attended the only response was, “where do you attend?”. I was taken aback. THIS isn’t the USA that I’ve been told about. I’d heard all the stereotypes about Americans. We all saw the movies. What I found instead was a country that had held onto concepts that had traditionally (I’d come to learn) been also British. We (British) had been taken over by self-loathing, everything is morally relative, Christian hating liberals that see no difference between any religion. In fact, they believe in our (English) “crimes” so much that they assume those that we’re “guilty of oppressing” must have been more enlightened cultures....so let them emigrate here, who cares if British culture is diminished?

I’ll admit, for years the brainwashing of what America “was” had still lingered, even though I’d started to see through it. Then 911 happened. I started reading about Islam. I started reconciling my Christian upbringing against the horrors being committed in all Muslim countries. I realized the stupidity of the English arrogance toward America. I realized that America was the last country left that would even recognize the threat of Islam, it still has a critical mass of Christians. Europe doesn’t. There are a few that are starting to realize the difference between Islam and Christianity but they struggle with understanding it because they weren’t brought up as Christian - they just innately know that there’s a conflict between the traditional “English way” and what Islam represents. The fact that the “English way” is saturated with the influence of Judeo-Christian ethics is lost on most (same for Europe in general).

I can see the frustration brewing. Some speak up - although I recall a (British) TV talk show once had somebody warning against Islam - the panel members just replied “racist” and the audience applauded. They’ve been lied to over and over, about both Islam and history. It is quite the “group think” mentality on display.

So it doesn’t surprise me when you describe this lawyer, although I can understand your surprise at the shear ignorance of somebody that would, otherwise, be considered “educated” and intelligent. What may surprise you is that this attitude is held by those that have been “educated” - not realizing they’ve been indoctrinated. It is the common man, the “uneducated”, that see the problem more than many - they’re less self-loathing and recognize Islam is not compatible with the “English way”. They’re also only going to remain patient much longer, although it’s difficult to know what the trigger will be....not long now though I think.

Do they want Sharia Law? Most know nothing of it.
Do they want to be repressed? That’s just “racism” if you try to get them to see that.
Do they hate Christ that much? No, but they know little about him, they just mock all religion due to ignorance.

Her friends also shared the same sentiment -> yep, you’ll hear the same from many across the land, sad when you consider it is the country where people were morally compelled to join Crusades. Now they think that was a bad thing.

Obviously dumb panel members if they think Islam is a race.

Agreed, although it is all of them. The entire audience agreed and applauded. You see people being arrested for publicly criticizing Islam under “racism” laws. It is shocking.

Islam is more of a tyrannical political ideology hiding under the veil of religion. They literally do not see the threat. It’s like the 1930’s all over again, “Peace in our time”. Not recognizing a threat doesn’t make it go away and not be real. I only hope enough people wake up in time - I’m just not sure how many are. I think some in the government realize but are scared, they’ve already let too many in. So they just try and keep the peace (Rotherham) but it will not last. It can’t. They’re just delaying the inevitable.

The trouble is, people talk about muslims as if they are all psychotic, foaming would be jihadis. I have many good friends who are muslim, and to damn all muslims as subhuman fiends will make anyone espousing this opinion look like an ignorant bonehead. Now, Islamic radicalism, that is certainly something that needs to be confronted, but you will never be able to achieve anything by slamming Islam and muslims as a whole.

Please ask your “good muslim friends”:

* What would you prefer, western law and democracy or Sharia?
* What should the punishment be for adultery?
* What should the punishment be for leaving Islam?
* What should the punishment be for preaching another religion to a muslim?
* What should the punishment be for being homosexual?
* What should the punishment be for insulting Mohammed?

Islam needs to be critically examined, in public, on how it can be compatible with our Judeo-Christian ethics (and consequently, our Constitution). It is not “just another religion”. It is a tyrannical political ideology masquerading as religion. It always has been - so your “friends” are not considered to be “good muslims” in the eyes of the orthodox. So when they become the majority (not even) and the radical (orthodox) muslims begin asking, “where are the non-believers?” - your friends WILL NOT hesitate to point the finger at you. That is the problem I have with them.

I once had, many years back (college), a best friend that was muslim. We hung out, played golf and I got him into Metallica. He was from Pakistan. I bet he was very much like those you know. He ended up having to return to Pakistan and was not happy about it. I think of him as a “muslim by family tradition”, he really didn’t know the full details on the life of Mohammed, he was muslim because his family is. That doesn’t mean he wouldn’t submit to the radicals if they came knocking. So when I think of muslims broadly, this is my problem with them.

fyi...my home town is saturated with Iraqi’s, as are my neighbors - but they’re Catholics. They’re the Chaldean’s that fled Iraq. They all tell me the same thing. You CANNOT trust them. Muslims will not stop on their quest for dominance, so things are going to get ugly. My guess is that, at some point, you’re going to have to make a choice you don’t won’t to make. Islam means “submission” or “to submit” - the end goal is that EVERYONE does. Get the answer to those questions and, if they’re being honest, realize there’s no distinction between them and “Islamic radicalism”. Islam is itself radical.
