Can't even defend a podium.

Defend it? He's a socialist, he knows that the podium belongs to all the people. I wouldn't trust him to defend America from a marshmallow threat!

It’s very simple really: socialism/collectivism comes with a very high price.

That’s what socialism begets. Promises that are unworkable.

...did not take into account the spending reductions...

Such as... paying Doctors minimum wage and gutting the military.

Yeah. That'll work just fine.

This is why America's Founding Fathers rejected Democracy.

If those types really believed in the cause, they wouldn’t need to wait until the rest of us are forced to sign on, they’d already be redistributing their wealth and putting illegals up in the spare room or the living room sofa. But no, they’re always in some holding pattern to force everyone else to do it.

Sure, Bernie, government programs always reduce costs just look at Obamacare.

And the fun part is, seeing your doctor will be like going to the DMV.

But it is “free’!

Besides the fact that it would cost more than projected, there would be a shortage of doctors because they are not going to want to work for the fees set by the government.

Plus, there will be an increase in patient visits because its “free”. Everyone with the sniffles or a hangnail will make use of the “free services”.

Bernie never explains exactly how his FREE programs will work. He tried to say, the other day, that they’d be paid for with corporate taxes. We know better than that.

Besides...aren’t US corporations already taxed at some of, if not THE, highest rates, in the world?

No, thanks, Bern.

Bulletproof? That must be a nifty t-shirt. I seem to recall some late 19th century Lakota warriors who felt the same way about their garments. Didn’t work out well for them in the end. Guess her ghost dance will be a twerk.

Medicare for all?

Medicare came in at 9 times original cost estimates.

Bye bye USA

“Nearly 50 years ago, at the time of Medicare’s enactment, it was projected that the federal government would spend $9 billion on Part A hospital services in 1990. Actual spending in that year totaled $67 billion—an increase of 644% compared with initial estimates.

“Likewise, government officials originally projected that Medicare Part B physician services would require ‘federal appropriations of about $500 million a year from general tax revenues.’ Last year, the federal outlay for that program was $163.8 billion—overshooting the original estimate by more than 4,400%.”

- Former senator Jim DeMint (R-S.C.), writing in The Wall Street Journal, Oct. 17, 2013

We’ll get single payer.

The GOP is not objecting to it out of principle; they merely quibble about the price.

Bernie Sanders can negotiate that little detail with John Boehner and Mitch McConnell.

He’s already won.

People will vote for FREE!

I’m not a fan of Bernie’s socialism but I’d be tempted to vote for a politician who offers me something for nothing.

They all do. If they costed their promises for you, they’d never get elected.

In that respect, politics bears more than a passing resemblance to the world’s oldest profession.

As long we establish the price, no one is going to raise an objection.

Single payer means instead of sending your premium to the insurance company, you send your premium to the government directly. That way the newly hired thousands of government minions can reallocate that money to doctors and hospitals. After they take their cut of course.
Those who cannot pay are all covered and you and I get to pay the extra. Then we all get the same piss poor service.

The government seems to be incapable of calculating the cost of a program.

For example - under “Free” education, I would guess they are calculating based on current costs and past cost increase rates. However - once free, the demand will increase, and for the supply to match there will need to be a huge increase in the cost - capital costs to build new buildings, expenses to pay professors, heating/AC costs, etc. In other words - the cost per student will increase dramatically.

Unfortunately, the average person (who unfortunately are allowed to vote) couldn’t understand this if it were explained to them (and the media won’t do that), much less figure it out on their own.
