Also schools were the melting pot - no multicultural or anything other than English was taught.
The history and culture of this nation was taught and celebrated.
Emigration (legal and illegal) along with multiculturalism is what is destroying this nation. To compare 19th Century America with today’s America is showing is being ignorant at best, and dishonest at worse.
