Once again Trump spouts something only normally a leftest would say.
But those you rage against the establishment will of course rush to his defense blinded by their anger.
"I think when you spread the wealth around it's good for everybody," said Engels, or Trotsky, or one of them disciples of his.
Um, Don?
What a CEO is paid is between the Board of Directors and the stockholders of the company—Nobody else.
So, unless you own stock in every company in the US, just butt-out.
I saw the show and ths article is disingenuous. This is not part of his tax plan or any other plan. He said it in response to a question about specifically whether he thought CEO’s were overpaid, and he prefaced his answer by saying that in a “free enterprise” system there isn’t anything government can do about it. But then went on to agree that in his opinion yeah they often get paid more than they’re worth because they stack the boards with their friends.
I remember I once saw a graph that showed how pay for CEOs and the wages of works would go up in generally a steady pace, presumably also rising with increased productivity. And then at some point wages just bottom off and becomes almost stagnant.
Why?
Because they moved all those jobs to other countries.
I’m not for some kind of wage control or some such nonsense, but it’s clear that so-called “Free Trade” has screwed us real badly.
Government meddling in the economy is the root cause of much of this mess (i.e. Jeff Imelt and other government lackeys). That said, I think many people are paid too high (especially pumpkin bouncers) but I am not willing to allow the government to meddle into the economy to set wage limits. Public opinion and share holders should be enough to move companies in the right direction.
Jesus. Karl Marx is being quoted on FR — without so much as a whimper of protest. Never thought I’d see the day.
Comments like yours get me thinking, “When did FR become occupy Wall Street?”
And I never commented on this issue, I merely posted the article. You wouldn't be opposed to all of us here discussing what liberal Donald Trump wants to do with the federal government under his control, would you?
Quote from the article I linked to in 35:
“A chief executive now makes about 257 times the average workers salary”
257 is roughly the number of work days in a year. So this means these CEOs make in a day what the average worker makes in a year. Did I get that right? I know it’s far from being that simple, but still...
Fantastic post! Is that an excerpt from a book, presumably one named “Soul of the South”?
Oh, stupid post on my part. You were talking to a poster named Soul of the South, not quoting from a book. LOL. Fantastic post nonetheless.
Trump’s liberal supporters abhor discussing his political positions. And there is no secret as to why.
If you read the article, they asked Ben Carson the same question - isn’t he running for President too?
What else Marx said do you agree with?
Stay stupid . no one cares
“Soul Of The South” is my favorite Freeper. He’s not around very often. Shame.
Trump has the blue collar populist knob dialed all the way up.
I don't know; at what point is there a difference between high compensation packages with massive golden parachutes and embezzlement?
I'm unclear on the difference these days.
The Auhoritarians will have their say dangit
