New mission for Team Romney: Stop Trump
Boston Globe ^ | SEPTEMBER 11, 2015 | Jim O’Sullivan

Some of them go back to 2002, the win. Others slogged through Iowa, twice, and rode aboard the Mitt Mobile. In 2012, they were so close to the White House they could taste it.

Now, the Mitt Romney diaspora — an army of former aides and advisers from Romney’s long political career — are arrayed among a host of Republican presidential campaigns. But, through no concerted effort, they are curiously aligned once again in common cause, a stem-to-stern effort that has united old comrades even as they nominally play for different teams: stopping Donald Trump.

The RINO establishment, country-club wing of the party seems scared. But has anyone heard Trump talk about expanding individual liberty?

Nope.

I also haven’t heard the GOP talk about it, nor seen them do it either, so don’t really care.

Talk is cheap.

Romney and his “panties in a wade brigade” here to save the GOP, only to bend over and give it away to the dems in the end.

What can a president do to expand individual liberty but shrink the size of government and cut taxes?

No I do not know what Trump has said about reducing the size and reach of government.

New mission for Team Romney: Stop Trump

If he'd only spent half the effort in 2012 that he has already expended against Trump, we wouldn't be paying Iran to become a nuke terrorist state.

There is one thing that could make me willingly vote for Trump.

Mitt Romney.

Many of these arguments against Trump sound great until you realize you’re being mis-directed.

What do most of the candidates propose to expand individual liberty? What does the GOPe propose? Nothing? Not much?

They ask a decent question, but it’s geared to focus on Trump’s supposed inadequacy. Never mind that he’s no worse than anyone else on the point.

I believe he does want to cut the size of government, hence the privatization of health care, rather than leave it as it is under Obamacare.

He also wants to eject illegals. That trims a lot of fat.

He doesn’t think Education should be Washington based. Wouldn’t be surprised to see him cut there.

If we got Cruz and him, wow, we’d be in for a sweet ride.

Less government, more liberty...

I have some concerns about Mr. Trump, too...
but REALLY.... “Team Romney” took an almost- SURE THING election........ and GAVE it away (by not campaigning worth squwat, almost completely avoiding critiquing or even mentioning his opponent’s many weaknesses

I don’t really want any campaign advice from “Team Romney”

Romney didn’t endorse Baraq during the campaign like McLame did, but he was probably the weakest of the field in 2012.

And these guys (and gals) are members of the same cast of clowns that gives us candidates like Dole, McCain and Romney, allies with McConnell and Boehner, and opposes conservatives wherever they may appear. As McConnell himself said to the Tea Party in March 2014, “I think we are going to crush them everywhere. I don’t think they are going to have a single nominee anywhere in the country.”
Look for them to be working to defeat Senators Mike Lee and Ted Cruz in upcoming elections...
