CRUZ: We Need to Address the Cause of the Migrant Crisis (caused by radical Islamic terrorism)

Radical Islamic terrorism is tearing communities apart from Libya to Iraq and Syria

HOUSTON, Texas — Today, U.S. Sen. Cruz, R-Texas, released the following statement regarding the migrant crisis caused by radical Islamic terrorism in Northern Africa and the Middle East:

“The migrant crisis from the Middle East and North Africa demands our urgent attention. The United States has a long history of response to humanitarian disasters and this should be no exception. Our immediate role should be to support our regional allies who are on the front lines through public and private assistance to the international organizations who are best poised to administer aid.

“In terms of settling the migrants, if the ultimate goal is to return them to their homes, which I believe it should be, it doesn’t make sense from a logistical or a security standpoint to move large numbers of them to far-off countries like the United States.

“Ultimately, we need to address the cause of this crisis or we will just have more and more migrants displaced.

“Bad actors like Turkey’s Erdogan and Russia’s Putin, both of whom have contributed tangentially to this crisis, announced this week that the West is to blame. This is disingenuous at best. The blame should be laid squarely at the door of the vicious, radical Islamism that is tearing communities apart from Libya to Syria and Iraq, creating the terrible circumstances that are causing the migrants to flee their homes. The failure of the United States has been an unwillingness to name and confront this threat.

“The regime in Tehran and their proxies may be Shiite and ISIS and its affiliates Sunni, but they are the cause of this problem. They are branches of the same poisonous tree – radical Islamism. Until we recognize the threat from this savage, twisted totalitarian ideology and develop a coherent strategy to combat it, we will at best be putting a Band-Aid onto a life-threatening wound.”

Senator Cruz,

Please don’t forget to blame Obama. He forced us to pull out too early befor the jay ve took over Iraq. Obama helped overthrow Libya which certainly wasn’t a threat to anyone. Syria is having to fight ISIS too.

Let’s place blame where much of it belongs — obama and Hillary.

I can't agree with "bad actors like Putin and Erdogan" in the same sentence. Putin isn't exterminating Christians, arming the MB, and trying to oust Assad and stop the Kurds from fighting terrorists. How about mentioning Saudi Arabia as a "bad actor"?

The mess the world is in, I think an older President who has lived US history since the 1960s is probably a good idea.

We have refugees fleeing war torn nations of Libya, Syria, Iraq, etc. The vast majority are Muslim, though a large number of Christians are definitely fleeing ISIS too.

For the many Muslim refugees, why do we not see Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Egypt, etc, opening their arms to them?

Why is it the west that is expected to open their arms to them?

I can see the west taking in Christian refugees who have been displaced and are under threat of enslavement or death from ISIS...where those Muslim countries are not interested in them.

But the Muslim refugees should find homes in Muslim countries. If they are Sunnis, then got to Saudi Arabia and other predominantly Sunni countries. If they are Shia, then go to predominantly Shia countries.

Our own State department, and the foreign offices of places like the UK, Germany, France, etc. should insist on this.

I fear that there is much more going on here than meets the eye. There are definitely horror stories about families and little children in these masses...but I fear those stories are being used to manipulate western nations to accept hundreds of thousands of Muslim refugees who are not really interested in assimilation into western cultures.

No...I fear they are being used for one thing...and it’s an Islamic principle that dates back to the early days of Islam, when Mohammed and his followers had to leave Mecca and travel to Medina so they could escape persecution in one, and live in peace, and ultimately dominate the other.

Islam has a term for it, and it’s called “Hijrah”.

We better make sure that such an event (leaving one area to escape and go to another to ultimately dominate it) does not ever occur in the US...and Europe better wake up and smell the rose, because IMHO, they are being invaded.

I have to agree with Cruz’s decision here to not blame Obozo in this statement.

He has already made clear Obama’s responsibility, but when a foreign entity attacks your country, you respond like this, as a Nation.
Internal conflicts are for another discussion.

Blaming another American is Obama’s way of responding to accusations like this. Remember his apology tour.
Cruz already appears more presidential.

A better world can only be attained by the complete eradication of Islam — the “peaceful”, the militant and anything in between.

Ted is the man. But I would still like to hear “As president I would cut off all immigration from middle eastern countries.”

This is not a migration, it is an invasion. There are videos on YuTube showing just how grateful these invaders are as they shout FU, & Allah Akbar.

Instead of returning them to their homelands we need to be returning them to their .......
