SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) - A manhunt is over after a man allegedly fired a shot at Shreveport police then led several agencies on a chase that crossed into Bossier City?

Shreveport police say they were called the Betty Virginia Park just after 3:00 p.m. Sunday after a lady said a man tried to sell her narcotics. When police arrived on the scene, the man had already left the area.

The man was described as a white male or middle eastern male who stood about 5'10" tall. Police say it's believed the man was in his 30's. He was last seen wearing a blue shirt and dark pants and was possibly driving a 2004 gray Nissan Altima.

A short time later, an officer caught up with the man matching the description of the person involved. When the officer approached the man in the 3800 block of Creswell Avenue, the man reportedly fired a shot at the officer then fled the scene. The officer was not injured.

Most perps who take cops on car chases don’t get away. And they give the cops added incentive by shooting at them.

I love a story with a happy ending.

But I can't believe they terminated the pursuit after he fired on an officer. Normally, in that situation, pursuit is never terminated until the suspect is stopped or they lose sight of him.

Shreveport’s a tough Town, police wise, I wouldn’t want to be caught there, even though I’m White.
El Paso is worse.
