Same as Lindsey in South Carolina and Kasich in Ohio. They are being paid big bucks and Kasich has probably been promised the Jeb Veep in 2016 and sacrificial lamb position in 2020.
The story is, that the FEC rules are such, that if an individual declares, files all the documents, jumps through all the hoops and remains alive for a full year, they get a pretty nice chunk of change for doing it. I heard a figger of $400K. Is that correct?

so many have bothered to file the FEC Form 2 to get into the race. Apparently this maybe an
easy way to make some quick cash without a lot of effort.

Actually, I read that on a thread here on FR about a week to 10 days ago. Someone queried why the Perrys and Santorums, et al would keep hanging on when they MUST know they don’t have a snowball’s chance. And the reply given, by someone who SOUNDED like they knew what they were talking about. If they were just Barak-ing, that’s their problem.
I basically like Rick Perry. I wish he would get out of the race as its getting a little embarrassing. We need to get this thing down to 4-5 candidates soon. Coalesce around one (Trump) and get on with defeating the Dems.
