More North Carolina officials refuse to perform marriages

RALEIGH, N.C. – Dozens of magistrates in North Carolina have refused to perform weddings since a law went into effect allowing officials to refrain from performing the ceremony.

The state court system says it's received 32 notices from magistrates since a law took effect June 11 allowing court officials who for religious reasons oppose gay marriage to opt out of performing all marriages.

The law exempts court officials with a "sincerely held religious objection" and is designed for those opposing gay marriage.

The law also gave the recusal option to some register of deeds workers issuing marriage licenses. Elected officials would perform the duties as a last resort.

State Sen. Phil Berger says the law is probably preventing situations like the one in Kentucky, where a clerk has refused to issue licenses.

Just watch the federal judges issue orders stopping this. Religious liberty stands in the way of their agenda, and they will destroy it.

The USSC has ruled numerous times that the federal government cannot force or draft state elected officials to carry out the dictates of the federal government. If the federal government wants gay marriage, it must supply the bureaucrats to carry out the federal edicts.

The last USSC decision concerning this was Printz v US.

Will the lower courts ignore this ruling? You bet they will.

The proper thing to do is for North Carolina and every state to reject the illegitimate diktat of the USSC and to protect their people.

They can’t just disobey a court order! They must be broken on the wheel, beheaded and their corpses ground up and put in pig feed! Imagine that! Disobeying the court. What’s next? Disrespecting The One?
