......there does seem to be a genuine and visceral dislike -- or perhaps distrust is a better characterization -- of guns qua guns among rank and file progressives; something apart from the evil acts that some people commit with these tools. Guns seem to occupy a place in their psyches that knives, clubs, garrotes, explosives, machetes and other implements that regularly are employed to murderous effect do not. They just know that somehow, guns are bad -- at least when in the hands of those who are not current law enforcement or military professionals (or of course their private security details), for whom liberals make a reluctant exception. The best way to respond to this type is to buy as many guns and high cap magazines as possible while you still can. Granted, many will be lost in tragic boat accidents, but, hey, it’s a price that much be paid.
Oddly, the gun safe seems to be shrinking. Yeah, that’s it. Not much air space in there these days.
There is an error in the plausibility in your comparison. Quantum Physics is happening in a dead skunk at some level. There is no intelligence that science can find in “these idiots”.

My nit didn’t feel a thing. And yes, a dead skunk is, in a lot of respects, more intelligent than most politicians, no matter what “stripe”.
