Graham: Kasich 'not ready' for presidency

Ohio Gov. John Kasich is “not ready to be Commander in Chief” because of his stance on spending cuts for the U.S. military, GOP presidential rival Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) told New Hampshire voters Friday.

“John Kasich is a good friend of mine,” Graham said, according to Time , before adding, “He said he has no problem with sequestration.”

Graham told voters that sequestration hurts U.S. national security.

“As the enemy increases in its ability, our approach is to disarm,” Graham said. “If the next president doesn’t understand that the cuts are killing us, in terms of defending ourselves, you’re not ready to be Commander in Chief. ... This is a cocktail for disaster.”

The spending ceilings, in effect through 2021, stem from a 2011 legislative deal that Congress passed and President Obama signed into law. The budget limits affect both Pentagon spending and non-defense domestic programs such as the departments of Homeland Security and Veterans Affairs.

Graham has long opposed sequestration and has expressed a desire to also ease the spending ceilings for domestic programs.

About a week ago, Kasich said on Hugh Hewitt’s radio program that sequestration “doesn’t matter to me.”

Kasich spokesman Chris Schrimpf, however, rejected Graham’s comments and clarified that Kasich supports lifting sequestration for the Pentagon — a position GOP presidential rival Jeb Bush also expressed support for this week.

“The Governor wants to lift the sequester for military and spend more if necessary, but he still wants to reform the Pentagon,” Schrimpf told Time. “So the sequester doesn’t matter to him in that he still wants to reform the Pentagon, but is against across-the-board cuts.”

The race has pathetically degenerated to the point where the bottom attacks the bottom to rise to double digits

I’m not very interested in Lindsey Graham, other than what he represents.

He lives in a world where he has come to believe that it is possible for him to become President of the United States! Imagine!

And he is not alone.

Surrounded by ass kissers and sycophants, awash in K street bribe money, he (a person of some influence over our fate) has become delusional. As have Gilmore, Pataki, Santorum, Huckabee and a few of the other clowns.

He’s not like Kasich or Bush. Both of them would be serious candidates if only there were a moderate Democratic party to nominate them.

He’s not like Marco Rubio, who is charming and has the aggressiveness needed - it’s just that the “emerging Hispanic majority” he needs to win has not arrived, and probably never will - and the moment when white bloc voting was inconceivable has passed.

But Lindsey Graham is the epitome of the delusional, incestuous, rotten to the core Uniparty governoriate occupying our capital, and when you meet him in person it is shocking how absurd the notion of him as a national leader is.

Look who’s talking!! Whatever you think of Kasich, his experience is vastly beyond Linday Graham’s.

Two nattering zero-percenters arguing over who’s the bigger zero. Comedy gold.

As I said (maybe not clearly enough) John Kasich and Jeb Bush are both obviously qualified by experience and temperament to be national leaders, it’s just that the party they need to nominate them does not exist.
