Honestly, I don’t have enough info on this story to decide.
It could go either ways.
Is Jerry just trying to generate buzz and publicity from an action he knew quite well was going to attract cars, fans, nuisance, traffic, and cops to a residential street just to get his name in the papers as a good guy trying to help charity?
Or,
Not.
How old are the kids? How did he happen to be there for photographers? Somebody informed them there was a bust there. Someone informed them the money was going to charity, not to the kids. Who?
I’m all for kids’ lemonade stands. I’m all for giving money for charity. And I’m a big fan of Seinfeld.
I don’t mind if someone is a-funny. But, I no like-a the funny bus-a-ness.
From Newsday:
A lemonade stand generating money for a charity run by the sometime East Hampton resident’s wife, Jessica Seinfeld, was shut down recently, apparently after an irritated neighbor complained to police, according to published reports.
From Grubstreet:
East Hampton Village Police Chief Jerry Larsen said police received a complaint about illegally parked vehicles at the location of the lemonade stand. At the scene, an officer advised the Seinfeld family that village code does not permit lemonade stands on village property. The village prohibits all forms of peddling on its property.

oh, and don’t forget, this is THE HAMPTONS. Normal people don’t live there.....................
Agreed.
But I say, the neighbor called the cops, they responded: who called the press? Understandable if a cop tipped them off, or their scanner; but suspicious if not. A reporter got onto it at the very least, and a photographer possibly (unless the photo was submitted by the wife).
How did you and I hear about it? If the charity angle was provided by the Seinfelds, who fact-checked it?
Not enough info.
Seinfeld has been out of the news lately.
This story makes him look sympathetic.
Two reasons to wonder about it.
Was this a Kramerica subsidiary?
Bad lemonade can cause uromysotisis.
Exactly. But I bet in this case, it’s just sum liberal that got his nose all bent outta shape because some kids were selling lemonade. He did it out of sheer uppityness.
