Polygamy is next & we knew it all along, university prof acknowledges in NYT

NEW YORK (Christian Examiner) – For years, Christians and social conservatives warned that if same-sex marriage were legalized, there would be no logical reason not also to allow polygamous or polyamorous relationships.

A University of Chicago assistant law professor is now acknowledging: They were right.

Writing in The New York Times July 21, William Baude said Supreme Court Justice Anthony Kennedy's majority opinion in Obergefell v. Hodges laid the groundwork for further expanding the legal definition of marriage – even if Kennedy and supporters of gay marriage deny it.

"If there is no magic power in opposite sexes when it comes to marriage, is there any magic power in the number two?" Baude asked. "[T]he issue was hard to discuss candidly while same-sex marriage was still pending, because both sides knew that association with plural marriage, a more unpopular cause, could have stymied progress for gay rights.

There is a silver lining to all of this.

We all know the pendulum will swing.

And when it does, it will swing hard.

Very hard.

We’ve had polygamy for years. Charlie Sheen was a polygamist, Hugh Hefner was a polygamist, and lots of men openly practice this and there’s websites devoted to it...

http://www.mensfitness.com/women/dating-advice/date-multiple-women-without-lying

But these men are okay because they just use the women for sex and that’s acceptable, for some reason.

But if Charlie Sheen or Hugh Hefner committed to being with the same women they abuse then people would get all upset and call the police!

And wealthy men have long had mistresses and 2nd families and it was okay because they were rich and powerful and they generally kept it on the downlow.

To me I don’t see what the deal is with people getting fired up about poly because we’ve had it for years, right in front of us, and no one cared before.

The thing about slippery slopes is that when you reach the bottom, no one denies that was the intended destination all along.

We all know the pendulum will swing.

And when it does, it will swing hard.

There has been an irreparable breach, though. Never before in history has it been recognized by a society that a man can marry a man. The breach we've seen in the past decade cannot be undone, or become unknown by our posterity. That is a grievous damage, one that should have never been allowed. Even if marriage is reaffirmed, worldwide, in law that marriage is between men and women only, the institution has been stained by the knowledge of this breach.

Very hard.

I'm afraid the most likely pendulum to swing our way will be a machete wielded by an ISIS executioner. And it will swing very hard.

Okay. Picture three/four/five way divorces and property and custody battles. The only real legal protection that women have are laws. Against bigamy. “honey, I’m home! Here’s our new Wife! Don’t like it, want a divorce? Well, we’ll split the retirement three ways...”

Polygamy has a better claim to legitimacy than homosexuality does, for consideration of legally sanctioned marriage purposes. At least the kids get both male and female influences in that arrangement, and it is more robust in the event of one of the parents passing away.

Yes, and the libertarians at CATO were also in denial of this fact, with some BS reason why extending marriage freedom to same sex couples would not lead to polygamy. I mean, seriously? If two men have rights, so does 1 man and 10 women, 1 women and 10 men, mother and child, brother and sister...ect...

Government regulation of marriage has been taken over by the Pink Swastika crowd. Bake the cake or they will send government to destroy your family business. They will grind you into the dust as far as they can like they did to the former CEO of Mozilla, Brendan Eich. This is homo-fascism in action.

If we have a separation of church and state, in order to protect godly marriage, we must separate marriage and state. It is time to get government out of the business of defining and regulating marriage.

When marriage is a private matter once again, the Pink Swastika crowd cannot force anyone to bake a cake they don’t want to.

#LoveWins => #BakeTheCake => #PinkSwastika => #LoveWins
