Last week, the American media appeared to accept a prospect that, for weeks, seemed too fantastical even to consider:
Donald Trump is a serious candidate for president.
It has been coming gradually, as Mr. Trump has continued to sit atop opinion polls despite attacks on undocumented immigrants, female news anchors, and honored American veterans.
Trump, it seems, was not made of Teflon, but chain mail.
So now the mainstream media are starting to take him seriously. The Washington Post treated his rally in Mobile, Ala., Friday not as the latest episode of “The Apprentice: Presidential Edition,” but as a serious piece of political strategy. Was Trump putting down a marker for the crucial early Southern primaries? The New York Times ran an article titled, “Why Donald Trump Won’t Fold.”
Even the Sunday morning news pundits chimed in, with Republican strategist Charlie Black telling NBC that Trump is “here to stay for a while.”
That is no small victory. Against virtually all predictions, Trump has made himself a legitimate voice in the presidential race.

They are not treating him seriously. they are just more subtle in their disrespect.
What’s next? After figuring out they can’t bludgeon Trump into irrelevance, the MSM and progressive GOPers are viciously attacking his supporters. Anybody who supports Trump is a Nazi, George Wallace bigot, etc.

Justified comments on one leftist news anchor and one disgraced veteran do not constitute a broad generalization.
McCain disgraced himself with his well-documented lack of support to fellow veterans, and MIAs.
The writer should go back to school, get a dictionary, and look up the words "journalism" and "propagandist."
And in Gandhi's case, they shoot you. Maybe not a good analogy...
The fun part is that the old template is useless today. The media and DC echo chamber is showing its ultimate irrelevance, finally. Though not my first choice, I welcome Trump because he has the ability to suck the air out of any other room while bringing the fly-over issues front and center. He is beholden to nobody but himself and has the liberty to say and do what he means.
The more the Establishment tries to go after him with the old templates, the more transparent they become and in essence raises his stock.

Does that mean that they are unable to vote? Best these naysayers pay closer attention, Trump is eating their lunch as they try to push him aside. He’s not going anywhere and those “Nazi, Geo. Wallace Bigots, etc.” are increasing daily.
How many other candidates are pulling in the crowds that Trump has? He just may be the next republican candidate for POTUS and when that happens, the real fight will begin.
The bigger question is who will the demodummies push forward? Hitlary may be enroute to jail.
For the record, I received a letter Saturday asking me to contribute a thousand $ to the JEB Founders Campaign (or at least $25)

Brilliant observation. The leftard media has never sought credibility, only relevance. Trump is, as you say, exposing their lack of relevance, and this is a wonderful thing to behold.
The media will follow the same playbook they did for Limbaugh. First they put out articles hoping they can shame him into silence. If that doesn’t work, then they will do a news blackout and not report him on any issues.
My favorite one is, “Anyone who supports Trump doesn’t have an IQ over 75.”.
