There was a lot of pressure in the 60s for schools in the US to have excellent STEM curricula... The Cold War, patriotism, 'American ingenuity', the Parable of the Talents, etc., also were components of our seriousness in the realm of education.
All this made the teachers, professors on down to elementary school teachers, and students at all levels, to teach and learn technically hard topics in some depth, and to an internationally high standard. To make us competitive. So as to prepare the country for the future.
After the immigration tsunami of 1967 onward, so much talent from abroad came in that the pressure was off to educate, train, and hire American kids into the sciences and professions... conspicuously, the legal profession and political class was spared thisflooding in of foreigners. (Wonder why.)
So other than help explain thr pitiful state of American public education, I think that this influx, if reversed, could contribute to both better opportunities for STEM graduates, but it will have a wonderful effect in toughening up and helping rebuild our high school and college curricula.

I love Cruz, absolutely love him but super pacs are what they are and no one is going to give boatloads of cash and expect to never make a suggestion.
No one except Trump who's giving to his own campaign.
Find a place for Sheriff Joe Arpiao from Maricopa County, Arizona as a highly paid & heavily used consultant.
He has seen the immigration problem up close & personal for a very long time. His experience is very valuable. We must have such citizens giving advice to Trump.
Otherwise—all your suggestions are very strong.
Putting native African internet companies out of business. White Man's burden, indeed.
The “others” are not ALLOWED to do it, because their rich donors will not allow it. The rich donors make bigger profits with the cheap labor express.
Trump is the most unusual candidate in my long time watching politics for 55 years. He does not need rich donors, he has a personality likes of Perot never had, he has more experience on how to use TV media than any candidate since Ronald Reagan, and most important, he is not afraid to shake the tree and offend some people which career politicians are always scared to do.
Great point .
“Hmmm . Cruz wants the same increasing H-1B visas that Rubio and zuckerberg are pushing.
I love Cruz, absolutely love him but super pacs are what they are and no one is going to give boatloads of cash and expect to never make a suggestion.
No one except Trump who’s giving to his own campaign.”
Great points also. I agree I’ve never seen anything like this . Go Trump!
Yes. plus immigrants vote for leftist policies
