In 2010, the Bureau of Labor Statistics estimated that 1.4 million out of a total of about 12.7 million workers in the restaurant industry, were legal or illegal immigrants. In 2008, the Pew Hispanic Center estimated that roughly 20 percent of the country's more than 2.5 million chefs and cooks were undocumented immigrants..."Improving economy, declining immigration, and higher rents those are the three main things creating the shortage of cooks," Cowen said.

Now, see, Obama is filling the jobs need and boosting the economy with all these illegals he's bringing in. Hope and change.
And just how many of these illegal cooks are not vaccinated and may be carrying some third world disease into the US? And thus spreading it amongst our population.
And yet, in the last few years, quite a few young people i have become acquainted with, tell me that they went to culinary school and have not been able to find any kind of a job in the restaurant industry — not any kind of job whatsoever!
And wash their hands
The manager gave him a $20 bill and a sandwich for his work.
2 of my favorite Japanese Sushi restaurants are now manned by Hispanics. Not one Asian sushi Chef anymore. The food quality is now like me, GONE (from their establishment)!
Or from the looks I get, hate Americans and what they do to the food?
I am sure there are exceptions either way,,,,good and bad.
But First,
They broke our laws.
This is what everyone seems to gloss over....
Now I understand, we need to embrace illegal immigration in order for urban elites to continue to enjoy their favorite eateries. We would not want them to suffer inconvenience.
I have a friend who went to Cordon Bleu in Vegas. Had a line on a couple of jobs but they didn’t come through. He wound up moving to the Finger Lakes are of New York and opening a B&B.
Most of the cooks at the local Chinese restaurants are Latino.
I’ve noticed.
Most of the cooks in our restaurants are latino, even the Chinese!.....................
Back in the 80s they regularly raided restaurants in South Florida who were using illegal Haitians as dishwashers.
we have two restaurants in my area that allegedly have “illegals” in the kitchen. I refuse to go to them. The others are better restaurants anyway.
Yes, would you care for some Hep A with that salad? Restaurants probably use Mexican produce, which then isn’t well washed by immigrant workers who don’t wash their hands. Yum!
This is why high school kids and the poor can’t find work.
There has been 11 million illegals for 20 years. They never increase or decrease in ranks?
Not just Hep A, there is also tuberculosis, whooping cough, e-coli, and other infections that illegals are bringing back to prominence in this country.
There are well over 40 million illegals in the USA.
The 11 million number came out how many decades ago and we’ve been experiencing millions more every year for decades.
In 2007, the “real” number was projected to be 38 to 40 million even as the government and media repoted only the same ole 11 million; “Indeed, 38 million to 40 million illegal aliens were estimated to reside in the United States in 2007 - see Illegal Aliens: Counting the Uncountable by James H. Walsh, The Social Contract, Summer, 2007.” http://www.cairco.org/issues/how-many-illegal-aliens-reside-united-states-elbel
Does anyone think those kinds of numbers are still relevant today, considering the Democratic Party of America’s deliberate importation of aliens? No, I doubt it. The real number is probably more like 50 million plus today.
he works for my brother now.....Boers Head....as a distributor......
This is why the industry needs illegals who are willing to live with 12 other people in a cramped apartment, the only way one could afford to pay rent in NYC on a food prepper's wages.
