As it stands today, even if we get a Conservative strongman as president and he beats the Republicrat Party into obedience, it would take decades to reverse the abysmal trend this nation is taking.
We have a Republican House and Senate. Looking at what is happening is why I support Trump. Time to get a businessman in there and not another Politician.
Compulsory government schooling has always been about replacing parents.
Government schools have been a spectacular success if measured in terms of what they were intended to accomplish.
“The Underground History of American Education” is available on-line for free. It was written by the 1991 NY State Teacher of the Year who spent 10 years doing research for the book.
It’s an eye-opener.

The truly sad thing is, there are a LOT of parents who would willingly submit to this, seeing it as just another benefit in a life-long string of freebies.
My son’s school had Open House the other night, and during the general orientation, the principal announced that the school qualified for the Obama Lunch program (CEP), and that “BREAKFAST AND LUNCH WILL NOW BE FREEEEE!” Almost all of the parents there erupted in applause.
The town I live in is rural, and (it seems to me) a lot of people don’t work, opting for a life of welfare. People like this would welcome more government involvement in their lives, just to remove more responsiblity.
So, instead of the current govt indoctrination centers, I mean ‘schools’, with NCLB/Common Core/(deviant) Sex Ed/non-Civics/etc., these will be different....how?
Yep, pretty soon students will be required to wear their red scarves to school.
Govt run state orphanages may do a better job than some who let their children run feral

It is disturbing this is extending into rural towns

School lunches has morphed into school lunches and breakfast.
What about summer vacation? Why let’s have a program to feed them over the summer.
What? How about the rest of the family? Let’s feed them too !
Much of society has happily abdicated parental responsibility to the State and the State has seized the golden opportunity to indoctrinate the kids.

They destroyed the family in the inner cities so now they have an excuse to totally take over
Let’s get rid of summer vacation. Schools year round, 24 hours a day.
