Amidst agricultural fields of tomatoes, sunflowers, and alfalfa, a small Woodland farm is openly growing hundreds of cannabis plants. This legal medicinal marijuana grow is setting a precedent for cannabis growers in the state. Most of Californias largest crop is grown clandestinely to avoid Law Enforcement. By growing in the open, with strict adherence to legal statutes and requirements, and promoting their organic and sustainable practices to the community, this farm hopes to turn Yolo County into the Napa of Weed. It may be a weed but I do believe it still requires water to grow.

With what water? How will California justify diverting water for this?

It may be a weed but I do believe it still requires water to grow. a whole lot of water that the illegal growers are stealing from farmers that grow food crops, funny how the gaia worshippers don't scream about that.

I reckon a legal weed farmer can afford to dig a deeper well than the corn or safflower farmer next door. All about the ROI. Almonds soak up water, yet new almond orchards are at an all time high in CA this year. Because of ROI.

Imagine an entire state stoned from dusk till dawn. Wait, it is already here, as far as the legislature and Moonbeam is concerned. My mistake.....

Marijuana is actually much more water intensive than most other crops.
And California is in a heavy drought.

And California is in a heavy drought.I live in San Diego County where the desert meets the sea. We are currently on water restrictions. Mrs 40 and I have managed to reduce our water consumption over this time last year by 27%; that's tough as we are on 6.5 acres. That reduction, btw, is about right on par with the rest of the state.
